Another old photo of us on trip with grandkids. This was in Gatlinberg Tenn, I think,We took a ski lift up the mountain to ski. Kids were freezing but once they got busy learning to ski they had a ball. We went on several mountain trips and I can't remember which city much less which mountain.:dunno:.This is the one this cable car was up with the small planes.

Ivory (2) sm.JPG

Ivory, good in a bath and now for your backyard grill!

Too Funny! I saw this today at wally’s. This is obviously a variant of an Alabama White Sauce, a barbeque sauce commonly found in north alabama, TN and parts of MS.

Basic recipe…

2 cups mayonnaise
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup prepared extra-hot horseradish
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Gotta admit, that looks like quite the climate change from the bottom of the mountain (first picture) to the top (second picture).

It was but it was cold down there too, even colder at the top where we attempted sking.Kids did alot better than we did,
First thing I did was " demonstrate' how easy it was to lean back and let go on a slight slope, well I went straight up into the air and landed hard with one ski going one way,etc.. Kids fiannly got happy, couldn't stop laughing. Then they showed me how its done without injury.
Hubby told me it was Gatlinburg Tenn where we went.Cost us $500 but not bad for 2 adults 4 kids under 12.

Oh Meer Been in that area hundreds of times over the years. Busted my rear in my attempt at sking too. LOL
The highest peak on the right Mt Guyot, 4th highest peak East on the Mississippi. The other high peak in the middle of the pic is Greenbrier Pinnacle. Used to be a fire tower up there and one fine view for many miles.

At first I was second guessing which mountain we were on, but I saw a pic and hubby said it was Gatlinburg almost sure.
Posted before I was thorgh. Sking can be a task all right.Tallest peaks I ws use to was a giant rock the largest granite rock on earth,Stone Mountain 2/3 of it is underground.

I used to love those things when mom made 'em during my childhood. I've asked her many times what they are called and how to make them. But she doesn't remember. I know there's bread crumbs and canned salmon, but are there other ingredients? I don't remember how mom cooked them either - from the picture I'd guess heat a little oil in a frying pan and then brown both sides. Can someone please enlighten me on how to make these things? I had forgotten about them for a few years, now this picture makes me want some again!
