She would run up my legs and hide in my hair or jump in hubbys front pocket if someone came up to us on trips,we took her to wildlife sanctuary, the others we didn't get close to knowing they were leaving. She was so cute peeping out of his pocket.

I was sent some pics of my friend's old door frame as it was being removed. Man, whoever built his house was an idiot. Complete mess.
Door doesn't even have a header. I'm waiting for him to send me pics of the door that has been installed.

In our standards of construction homes are not required to have a header over doors or windows up to 36 inches wide or if the wall is not a load bearing wall. I didn't have to put headers over any of the doors - even the double garage door or the single vehicle 9 foot door in the shop.
I put headers over all the doors. The inspector said it was unusual to see headers. Well it was also unusual to see foundation ties every 32 inches and structural sheathing on both sides of the walls. He and my neighbors told me if there was a disaster they would come to my place... sad.

Sheepdog, it's a loadbearing wall. My friend said the entire wall was moving when they were removing the old trim. I just hope it won't collapse.
Sadly the trim broke into pieces while being removed. The top casing on the inside had to be put under the threshold to raise the door up enough for the door to clear the carpet.

Judging by the siding the house may have been built before building standards were in effect or invented..

LOL. I think it's not quite as old as my house, but I'm not sure. I believe my friend said the house was built for his grandmother (who was actually his great aunt but who adopted his mother) and her husband. They were both blind so they couldn't see the quality or know if things were missing.
The house is not built well & we've done a lot of work on it thus far.

I went back to put clothes in the dryer and happened to look out the window... My puppy was destroying a 5gal bucket. I had to laugh, he had demolished it! He'd already ripped the bottom out and split it down one side. It wasn't much good anyway...

I watched for about 10min... that ole nasty bucket wasn't going to get the best of him!

I'm not going to waste any more money on chew toys... I think I have an old tractor tire up at the shop thats no good.

That dog has some strong teeth and jaws!

I was corrected about the age of my friend's house and the work done on it. Renovations were done on it when my friend's blind grandparents lived there-- hence why the colors are so ugly and it was all done very poorly. But the house itself is over 100 years old. So it *was* built before building codes existed.
