I knew a now deceased man who planted 1000's of trees in Canada after his wife left him and his children were all grown and gone. After he purchased and planted one year, he contacted nurseries and asked for what they had at the end of the season so that he could plant them.

Someone dumped the puppies apparently. It's common around here. People don't care about animals and abandon them.
They're good looking dogs, it's a shame people drop animals off like that, around here people dump their cats, double bad because the cats have really disseminated the wild bird populations, there's hardly any quail around any more and song birds seem to be totally absent. Of course it doesn't help to have the logging companies spraying herbicide and insecticide all around either, even getting a garden to grow is a challenge, due to those sprays traveling down to our area because of the wind.

I won't let the grandkids buy clothes with holes in them. I tell them to do some work and earn those holes.
You're a nice mom, Dr Jenner
I'm not a fan either. But then I think back to the late 80s when we would put holes in new jeans on purpose, or the jeans started coming that way at the store, and I remember that it's not that big a deal. I do tease the kid about it though. I tell her she's not allowed to whine about the cold when she's only got a hoodie and ripped up jeans. Being cold is fixable. It's called a wearing a warm coat and good pants. She wasn't amused by that...

Hoodies are another pet peeve of mine when it's 20 degrees out. Forgetting the coat because the classroom will be warm is dumb. But I don't fight every battle. Today, though, granddaughter was looking for shorts to wear to the mall in the city. I told her I was not taking her in shorts. It was barely 60 degrees out. She was mad but I assured her that her legs in jeans would not make her sweat to death.

Today I was doing some spring cleaning. I found an old picture album...

In it was a polaroid of my first car. A '65 impala, metallic green. For the car guys... it had a small block 400 engine, holley 4-barrel, headers, 400hp racing heads. It was very, very quick.

I remember a guy in a town near here that I used to see sometimes. He had a candy apple red '65 impala with a 283 engine. We always raced when we saw each other... He kept trying, give him credit for that. I'd dust him in the first 100ft.

Those small block 400's were killers. I bought a 68 camaro a long time ago that someone had put a 400 in it, with a 4sp, 12 bolt rear end with 4.56 gears. It was pretty quick. I added a high rise Edlebrok intake with a Holley 750 double pumper, and a cam that hit a mean lick. It was quicker then.

The circle track guys have destroyed most of the 400s now.

Really? It's a dead ringer for the topography along the rail line between Vaughn and Carrizozo.

Nope. Now that I'm thinking about it I can't think of any RR tracks in the area. There used to be some, I can see the raised ground and the remains of the bridges.
