It was down in the 40s range so the kitties at my friend's house were huddled up in a car seat.

They are all siblings but the orange one is from an older litter.

Another cat who showed up was sleeping in a stroller nearby. His name is Loud Kitty.

I had a job building train cars, later I rode trains a lot... the best, walking the rails when I was a kid. Always wanted to know where they went.

Railroad tracks ran on the north side of my parents farm. We used to take hikes along them when I was older, and the farm no longer belong to my family. My mother was always concerned that some nefarious people might have stowed away on the train and would come and do us harm.

Brittany. Not a Springer. Winter and Summer are Springer Corgi mixes. Friday is a pure Brittany. No papers but that is because her mom was still too young for her health/hip check when she went in to heat and got with the breeder's male Britt.

I grew up with Brittanys. This is K's first real hunting dog and he was worried she would be like my folks' spoiled Britts that have no real training.

A Radiologist I knew gave me a fully trained Brittney, She was the smartest dog I ever had.
I changed jobs and was not able to take her hunting so I gave her to my nephew and he was amazed.

My folks have a pair of spoiled rotten Britts right now. They has basic training but they should have more. They run the house and my folks just pay the bills. No joke.

I grew up with Britts that either had great instincts and were great hunters because of it or were easy to train and were good hunters. I cut my teeth dog training on several Britts before ever having a different breed. I have done the training for my folks until this current pair. With the girls and being far away I haven't done much to train them and help my folks. But then they are older and should not be getting puppies just because their older dog passes. I kind of want my parents to see it isn't as easy as they pretend it is and that fact they are dealing with 2 spoiled dogs proves it.

I will say we spoil our dogs but they have jobs and are highly trained. Friday is almost 5 moths old and she is taking the basic training very well! We are working on hand signals with verbal commands and she is pretty good. I am just working with her prey drive as she can't seem to get beyond trying to chase a cat here or there. My cats hate it.

I love spaniels. They have lots of energy but are very lovable dogs. Maybe you saw my post about a year ago about seeing one in the street who had been hit. I was sure he was dead, but when I spoke, he lifted his head and started talking to me.
Was he okay?

Was he okay?
I didn't think so at the time. He was lying in a pool of blood that was larger than he was. I believe it was the woman who hit him who had stopped and had called maybe 911. (He had jumped the backyard fence and escaped.) She was talking to someone on her phone and I heard her say, "Yes, I'll hold." Then I asked her if he had a tag? If he did, I was going to call and let the owners know. Just then a woman comes out of the house right by us and says, "How did you get out?" She swooped him up and took him in. I thought because he just lifted his head to talk to me because perhaps his back was broken. I didn't know anything else for months. Then one day I was driving on a street a few blocks away and saw what I thought was him. I stopped and asked if he had been hit by a car? Yes. I parked and sat down on a small ledge and he came right over and leaned up on me. She told me that all the blood was from him almost biting his tongue off. He had to have stitches in his tongue. He also had a broken leg.

Lots of dogs will come up to me and greet me, but for him, it was special. He hadn't been talking to the woman who hit him, but he started talking to me as soon as I spoke.

I remember you posted a picture of him later while walking with his owner. Have you ever seen him since??

And a love!
That is the breed. They are total lovers. If they have training they are cuddlers but know their boundaries. If they are not trained they will be uber pushy and demanding for attention.

That loverboy you posted looks like a French Brittany. They have this weird coat compared to American Brittanys. More red and fluffy.

I like the tricolor Britts. My first Britt, Patty's mom was a tri. She was a beautiful dog. Not breed standard but still a good looking dog.

Had some time to practice my bread making..a few loaves went to the birds I admit.
I finished another rug..
Had a fire going all weekend..it got just a tad below zero one morning a day or two ago. It looks by tomorrow night it will finally be above freezing during the day at least. It's been a cold few days..
A pretty sunset I think last Thursday or friday..

Are your rugs crocheted?

I heard that the cherry pie and coffee at the diner mentioned in the Twin Peaks series was absolute garbage. LOL.

Peanut, is that an electric bike? It reminds me a bit of the Bowden Spacelander bike.

Took pics of my new air fryer/convection oven. It takes longer to cook than the old one and I'm not quite used to it yet, but its nice. Can fit more stuff. (I need to clean the rest of the counter more thoroughly. I left some of it the way it is bc I have the diatomaceous earth up there to kill roaches. The cabinets need new pulls (which we have in a box) and new hinges-- need to buy the hinges though These ones are rusting and some have broken.
