This might sound a little odd for this thread, but I've been on a get everything organized kick. I want to know what I have and where it is, like with like and such.
@SoJer & @DrJenner I've given it to God to put us in the right place but look almost daily and am honestly a bit anxious to have our own land again.

I'm with you on this. Having the right space really helps, and I'm frustrated with some of mine.

Not odd at all - I need to do that, my pantry is a complete disaster as I'm running out of room to put my preps. We are getting a large container to put on the property and will start moving stuff up there, but in the meantime, I am so disorganized.
We've gotten rid of a lot of stuff too.

I have no TV, or Radio, or woman or dog, so for lack of anything better, I make a game of trying to quality tools, at prices that seem a good deal to me. So, I ordered this last week, and it came today. Very impressed with the quality, especially for $14,99 delivered to the bottom of my mountain. It is the green one, and I just ordered the yellow one also. They both have a 4.1" face.

Had our kiddo and his teenage friends helping to fill a 20 yard dumpster with all sorts of junk and accumulations. Pickup tomorrow and they are dropping another dumpster off. Funny how the video game players get interested when there is cash involved.
Made room for a 40ft cargo container for secure storage while I rebuild my small shop. The cargo container will then become a permanent secure storage area.

I found hot chinese mustard powder at the asian market last week. S&B Hot Mustard. Tried it last night, just as good as the hot chinese mustard I buy in a jar. Gonna go get a few more cans, been wondering about this. The last couple of years I started cooking more asian dishes and really like hot mustard in dips and sauces.

The chinese mustard in a jar goes bad in less than a year. Powder in a can should stay fresh 2 or 3 years.

What is a "fair" Price.......??

I lost the reciept, don't remember. But, tonight I've done some reading about mustards and how to make them from seeds. Basically three types of seeds, brown, black, white. They all have enzymes that react to different liquids, differently.

Grind up the seeds to make mustard powder. Then you can go several different routes depending on what type of mustard you make. Using hot or cold water to mix the powder will change the heat level. You can use different vinegars to mix with powder for different tastes. Or combinations of liquid

The seed is cheap, $8 - $10 a pound. As long as you can grind it, make any mustard you like.

Dry mustard will last way longer than 3 years, square that at least.

I use a pinch of salt, a couple pinches of sugar, and enough ACV to make it to the right consistency. The wife warns our friends if we serve it.🤯

Anyone have any experience with these little Garmin radios? Been thinking about getting some on a "corporate" plan for my kids and us, along with my brother and his wife so we can communicate if cell towers go down.
Supposedly you can send pre-programmed texts or other texts, along with location info to each other.
I thought it might be helpful since both my kids will be in CA by June, my brother in NV and we are meeting up here at our property - in a SHTF event.

Not aspiring to discredit any information offered here, however if you know any of the "Pure" hunting forums, those people are obsessed with every nuance of those tools. Especially saturation hunts, lasting months and extremely remote.

This is not my department, so I have only a slight awareness of the issues. Depending on what you expect would disrupt the cell towers, seems equally probable the satellites would also be removed from service, either via solar flare, or military destruction.

I don't, personally I'm not much of a hunter at all. My husband did when he lived in MT, but times have changed since then for sure.

I had these for my chicken's coop. Works like a charm!

I want to start making my own mustard mixes from dried seeds, grinding, adding things etc.

This is the hot mustard I usually buy "Kame", it’s pretty darned good. It will pop a sweat on your forehead, its hot! When cooking asian dishes I sometimes mix soy sauce & hot mustard for a quick dipping sauce, great for egg rolls.

I don’t see it often at regular markets (unless I drive across town to the asian market). I ran out but on Tues. I bought a couple more jars. It contains water, mustard, vinegar, salt, spices and turmeric. (I guess turmeric isn’t a spice, hey, it’s made in New Jersey )

Anyway, now I can try to copy the chinese mustard I like. Maybe I’ll come up with something I like better.

The Princess has recently separated the long term from the short term. I usually don't venture into those 2 rooms but sent me down there to restock the soft drinks today.

WOW!

I had pictures to share to fruits of her labor. This is the short term room that is filled with shelving with narrow walkways in between the shelving. I was impressed by how orderly it all is.
...

She also reported she has filled another 10 5-gallon buckets with long term stuff and needs more buckets. She has done good!

I posted this in What Everybody Watching thread, but I think it suits this thread as well.
To anyone who is interested in the "prepping" side of potential wartime. I am watching "Wartime Farm" which is a BBC production. It is set up in today's day to "relive" so to speak what folks went through. Though in Britain, there are so many similarities and so much food for thought as to the power of government. I am only on episode 5, but it speaks of rations, supply shortages, livestock, alternative methods of doing certain things, etc. As the gal said, it's not entirely fair because we know we won. If you didn't know, what would your mindset be? Anyways, highly recommend it so far.
ETA: Yes, it's in Britain, but so many similarities that it almost doesn't matter.
