Am I mistaken or not getting the point but a few of my American friends suggest the 2nd amendment died with the Patriot Act ?

No, it still has some life in it. McDonald v. Chicago was a watershed ruling by the Supreme Court affirming the Second Amendment's protection of individual gun ownership rights. Since then we've had a number of other laws overturned in Federal Court due to their violation of the 2nd Amendment. Some of the commie states have taken it upon themselves to make life as miserable as possible for gun owners, but most states have moved in the opposite direction.

At the moment, the 2nd appears to have more life than the 1st. :rolleyes:
