Yes! Since I no longer watch television, I no longer hear about it. I have neighbors who have a wood burning stove and one in their home in the mountains. He told me that he gets wood from a man up by Craig, Colorado. It is cut, split and the man stacks it for him.

Water is still frozen. Never got above freezing yesterday and I started feeling worse. Coughed so much I kept threw up on myself. That was "fun" to clean up without having running water. Hooray for wet wipes. I do still have some water in some filter pitchers. But I'm going to have to get more to refill water for the kitties and I will have to figure out how to break the ice on the water for the cows and get them some hay. I really don't want to be going out in the cold when I'm feeling this cruddy. The back of my head/neck hurt when I cough, I can feel mucus in my chest, I am uncoordinated and stumble when I get up, and I feel lightheaded when I get up. I just generally feel cruddy.

At least my cat, Boo, is feeling better. He's parked himself on my lap right now. I should get up and feed him. I should probably drink more water but I pee myself when I cough and I don't want more fuel for my bladder. I've been sick for over 2 weeks now and it sucks.

This has been my idea for a long time, to have a wood stove in the fireplace.

The Princess is intent on getting a cook stove I am insisting that it can burn coal in addition to wood. Coal burns hotter. We have an exposed coal seam on The Ridge. The stinky coal mind you. It will smell like my grandmother house when the slate dumps were still burning.

our kitchen stove can burn coal but I haven't found any yet. Silly too, we live in a coal area . I guess they have shut down the sale of it everywhere , sad.

I've been dreading my doctor appointment yesterday, but value the data collected from the annual blood test. It was a rough early morning; had to feed livestock in the dark and below zero temperature to get an early start to make the appointment. Despite breaking trail out my mile long driveway with my 4x4, my car was dragging bottom in the snow. Made it out anyway.

So the clinic wanted me to update my paperwork. I told them that nothing has changed from last year? But they insisted and handed me a clipboard with four pages. Dam it forgot my reading glasses, but the lighting was good and I was making due at arm's length. Then I got to the reason for the "update": A bunch of ridiculous woke questions!

I was instantly pissed. So tired of this relentless attack on common sense! Woke and racial nonsense " update " Shoved down your throat until you gag on it!

No wonder my blood pressure was higher than normal?

Recently a nurse asked if I felt safe at home. I said do you? Then I asked how many guns were in the home and if they were locked up just for fun. Many irrelevant questions go unanswered on my forms. You all know you can do that right?

Even my conservative computer has the word "unhoused" underlined, as if I made up the word! No, the woke made it up!

We need to add the to the conservative dictionary.

Woke up - a made up word or phrase to make liberals feel like they are making a difference or actually helping anything.

Example- the word unhoused is some woke up bullspit. Or referring to illegal aliens as migrants is like calling escaped prisoners migrants.

I'm awake after midnight. Still feeling cruddy. Can't get the aerator off Mom's bathroom faucet to clear the crud that is clogging it. She was in the living room and said she felt like her blood sugar was low. I checked and it was 26. Got her some marshmallows, an ice cream sandwich, and made a midnight run to the Ynot stop to get sugar cookies. She's feeling better now but I still feel like garbage.

Mentioning of illegal aliens reminded me of how my father got screwed out of a promotion. He was told he hadn't trained in the DACS (Deportable Alien Control System) and he referred them to his resume that he *wrote* the DACS. He then said if they insisted on having him trained in the system he wrote/created then he would take the training and they told him he was "too old". He filed an EEO complaint for age discrimination but the only witness was bribed with a promotion/pay raise to "forget" that he heard the conversation.

I feel like I'm being whiny griping about being sick when I know a lot of people are dealing with worse right now but I hate being sick.

wow, I don't think anyone at a doctors office ever asked those type of questions when I went there
they did ask " did you have any alcohol" after I had my accident

I called the VA to confirm an appointment.
The woman asked me if I had stable housing, did I feel safe at home, do I have any thoughts of hurting myself, and a couple of other question I don't remember. I answered her questions.
She deals with a lot of veterans and I can understand why the questions are asked.
She deals with vets suffering with PTSD and they are trying to help them get help if they need it.
There are questions I will not answer like do I own firearms.
I just tell them I don't answer irrelevant questions.
I did have a doctor that would not take no for an answer so I told him exactly what I thought, then said you are fired and I left to never return.

I read something, maybe here where a guy was asked what he wanted to be called and he wrote The Chosen One.
Later on a return visit he heard the receptionist tell the doctor "the chosen one" is here.
