Yes, she was great in Downton Abbey. Looking back I saw a clip, was it here, where she and Diana Rigg (the English tv series The Avengers) had words, some passive aggressive attitude. I’ve been wondering where I heard the way Rigg spoke to her and it was that! Cracked me up, I use it with a friend. “Hello, Daphne.” Smith’s response was smooth. Evil Under the Sun 1982.

I loved her acting abilities. She was in an early film "Clash of the Titans" where she played Hera wife of Zeus. She was much younger then. I'll miss her.

She was the consummate professional. If she was in it you know there would be at least one great performance.

My favorite was the movie Quartet. A beautiful story about friendship and growing old. I highly recommend it.

RIP Dame Maggie Smith. You will be sorely missed.
