nah,I'm qurrently visiting the flu-land,what a joy to feel this week and snotty
but so far I've managed to dodge that bullet with noro-virus...
Sorry to hear that Arcticdude. Give her our best wishes. How far away is the doctor? The wife slipped on the ice yesterday and fell down the stairs. She's not doing well. I think she broke some ribs, at least. I'll take her to the doctor tomorrow.
Thanks. We have a clinic in town about 20 miles away (1 hour this time of year). They're closed on weekends. Shes with the doctor now. If she needs to go to the hospital it's another 50 miles further.Sorry to hear that Arcticdude. Give her our best wishes. How far away is the doctor?
Thanks jontte. Shes with the doc now. Shes in a lot of pain.just take her to the doc, hope it's only some minor bruises and no fractures.
take care and my get well wishes to her.
this flu came at a very bad time as I should prep myself for 19 mile march with 55 lbs load in may and that 12min running test two weeks earlier...well it seems I'm going to "embrace the suck" big time...
Glad your getting around to it! I try to warn everyone about fruit trees. It's at least three to five years before you start getting good results from them. We just had the power company put in underground power on the property here. They had to kill about ten of my trees for the trencher to lay the line. I'm going to wait till fall before planting some replacements though. The winter gives the newly transplanted time to adjust better I think. I grew different citrus trees down there with a lot of success. Finally going to get the gardens going, and some fruit trees planted. Tractor Supply has some I want for only $24 (fruit trees). Apple, pear, etc. Since it will be a while before I ever see fruit from them...anxious to get started on it!
I'm gonna get some help on the garden project, so can't wait to take advantage of that.
Hope it turns out well for her. Ice is evil stuff! We've had heavy snow and freezing rain the last couple of days. The wife slipped on the ice yesterday and fell down the stairs. She's not doing well. I think she broke some ribs, at least. I'll take her to the doctor tomorrow.
I did get the last of the potatoes in the ground today in the outside garden. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them. If it is going to freeze again I guess I will just bury them under an inch of soil.
I've been building a tall carport to park equipment under. Tomorrow I have a gravel truck coming to put down a full load of rock under it. Gravel is 450.00 a load now. Damn...... I could almost do concrete for that!
You know they discovered gold in n. Ga. Many years ago. Hell, if you could just dig up all the truckloads of gravel that have sunk under my driveway you could retire!I'm with ya. I need about 10 yards of concrete at $105 a yard. When I built the garage (38x36 and should been 100x50) I spent $950 on gravel to go under the slab.

Update: She has several broken ribs, one of which is close to the kidney. Nothing was punctured but the doctor was concerned that it's still a possibility. Shes flying back to Alaska tomorrow, which I'm sure will be an uncomfortable trip for her.Hope it turns out well for her. Ice is evil stuff!

At least we have a good base of #4 Rock down now and won't get stuck after a rain. This damned Ga. clay is really slick stuff when it gets wet. The carport I'm making is 20x24'. I just started putting the purlins on for the tin, which I should be picking up Thursday. The only bad thing is it's tall so I can park equipment under it. I'm not crazy about working 14' high up using ladders. I am aware that if I do fall, it takes a lot longer to heal than it used to.....True. I had to dig a hole in a driveway at an old house. 4 feet deep, old house. At least I had an auger. Never made it past the gravel - river rocks under crushed limestone.
And the problem is our county sits on a huge limestone deposit.
I guess the gravel is like dirt. Dirt's cheap but hauling it ain't....
