My son and I have been getting things together to start an electrical company this January. We built a trailer earlier and just today mounted the ladder rack we built over the last three weeks or so. The top of the rack will get sheet metal and lettering for the business, but all we accomplished this weekend was getting it painted and installed. Baby steps. The side mount tool boxes are awesome, not cheap but really cool, from tractor supply.

I do quite a bit of traveling so I always have a get home bag with me. In the last few weeks we
added two satellite phones to our preps with the thought that if cell phones / land lines are down due to some regional scenario that satcomm should still be viable.

We each also carry a solar panel to charge phones/tablets/flashlights/radios up.

*edit*
In case anyone is wondering I got these from https://www.satellitephonestore.com/ and did the following plan:

10 minutes a month per phone (extra minutes at some obscene rate but hey it's for emergencies)
minutes rollover
USA number + Iridium phone #
100 bonus never expiring minutes per phone
Came to $49.99 a month per phone

Today going to put the studded tires on my truck and buy a new set of tire chains for it. Going to look at a trailer to live in while I build the house too. I figured with chaining all 4 wheels I might be able to drag the trailer up my 3 mile driveway. Need to buy a tractor next to keep the driveway plowed. The moving truck will be here on the 1st with the rest of our stuff. For now we'll keep most of it stored in town.

Yesterday my supernova shotgun broke probably a problem with the actual chamber but it's not even reloading. I've decided to stock up and get two or three armsel strikers but any links to getting a replacement chamber would be much appreciated.

Son and I put 3 deer in the freezer. Working on reloading some pistol and rifle ammo. Hit some good sales lately filling our pantry shelves. A lot too be thankful for. Plus the Packers beat the Lions tonight, yep life is good!

The wife had what I thought was cookies on the counter and ate one, I ended up spitting it out thinking it was a dog treat so I fed them to the dogs, when she got home she asked where her cookies were at, I said I already passed them out to the dogs, she gave me the death stare! Come to find out they were a gift from a friend in Denmark. Apparently they were Danish shortbread cookies made with honey.

I prefer the oatmeal with the insects!

finally,my struggle with the police who writes those gun permits is over,it only took a small change and some time in court, but I got it and as soon as the mail delivers my "new" mosin nagant m44 will arrive.
I did apply for a semi-auto too,but the police makeing the decisions here in the capital are..well a-holes (they wanna ban all semi-autos here) so it took a little longer that I had thought..and a alot of patience.

Glad it's finally working out for you! I'm glad I live where it's a right to bear arms. Sometimes I think it may be too easy to get them here, but I am greatful I at least have a chance to defend myself. I'd love to see a picture when you get it!

you will!! I'm so glad about it,only small draw back is the ammo prize here as it uses the long 7,62,but with that rifle I will evetually be able to hunt something bigger than bunnies ;)
and if push comes to shove some two legged vermin too...

Ok you've motivated me to pull out my AR and shoot it for the first time tomorrow. I've been wanting to site in the scope anyways. Every other time I've had time to try it out the weather was bad or something came up. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to be great.

get out on the range Friend :)
it's simply a bucket full of fun :)
I live out in the country, so no need for the range. Common sense is required though, and never firing high enough so anything could leave the property.
Well the bad news is I didn't get done with our projects In time to shoot today. The good news is the work truck is looking great! I also got the new lift home and got to try it out a little in the yard. I guess this relates a little to prepping, as having a way to make an independent living vs working for a company is taking control of your own destiny.
