@zoomzoom @Neb got my 5 gallon bucket of Evapo Rust today. Thanks for your suggestions... that small quart bottle I bought has already paid for its self 3 times over by cleaning tools I'd have thought were hopeless, ready to be replaced. Probably take me all summer to clean up everything in the shop. Heck I really need to start on the tools in the tool box on my truck. Quite a few things in there need a good cleaning and some oil.

Cool.

It is the wrong time of the year since my shop is not heated. Chemistry works slow at low temps.

But I did find a set of 0-6 inch micrometers on sale with a coupon.

If they are junk I will return them.

Those look pretty nice. Most of the reviews were good, but a couple mentioned that theirs were off by a few thousandths. They'd probably just need to be recalibrated before use.
I've got a set similar from my dad. I think they are Starrett.

I do still recommend transferring only what you need out of the 5-gallon bucket so the whole thing doesn't get cruddy.
