It comes full circle - - for Wynton Marsalis - - hailing from Louisiana, he and his dad Ellis Marsalis,(my teacher at NOCCA) are world-renowned Jazz musicians. I noticed Wynton began to branch out in the last 15 years, touring with Gospel and Classical groups, and other types of music besides his beloved Jazz. Mark O'Conner from Washington State, was first inspired by Louisiana Cajun fiddler, Doug Kershaw. And although Boil 'Em Cabbage Down has it's roots in Appalachia - - Mark O'Connor's playing could easily be mistaken for Cajun Zydeco !! Great post!!

@Michele My Belle I love hearing the Marsalis family play. I looked for tours from them, as single artists, Wynton, Del Feayo, I probably spelled that wrong, Branford -he was the band leader on Tonight show with Jay Leno, their dad of course. They don’t play in Texas!? My daughter said Del at her college in Idaho for free right before Mardi Gras one year. Nobody else went!!! Like an audience of 2 or 3!

"In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Rick Springfield's iconic 'Working Class Dog' album, Rick and his band recorded this version of "Love Is Alright Tonite" live at Rick's home!"

He "might' not be great, but lives the life.....
