We had snow last night then it turned to freezing rain this morning so was just lovely for skating with no skates on. It’s just made it up to or maybe just over freezing so all the ice is falling off the tree limbs and power lines. Sounds like shots going off when it hits the ice on the ground. Eerie.

Freezing rain on top of snow made for a great commute back to the RV.
Hubby was going to work on the road at the new place and it didn’t happen today.

Rain rain rain & more rain. Most rivers are at flood stage. Water over the roads in low spots everywhere else. Thankfully I live on a hill and my house sits up off the road, but my yard is a mud pit and I'm not sure when it's supposed to let up

It warmed up to 68° yesterday but then got down below freezing again at night and is currently 40°. My fluffy calico is trying to climb on to my keyboard and has the warm air from the laptop blowing out on her.

We've had a nice little break from our snow, and it hit 48F today, so lots of it melted away. I'm hoping my heated poultry waterers that froze up when it hit 16 thawed out, I'm getting tired of hauling water out to the birds 3x a day!

I'm hauling water to the cows. The well guy needs to hurry up and get my pump in.

We've had snow almost every day since the first week of December. Technically we are butthole deep in snow here. Last night I shoveled 3 feet of snow off the back deck to get to the BBQ.
It looks like it might finally be clearing up today. After clearing the road today I'll see if I can get some bobcat and ermine sets out.

Thankfully the rain had stopped sometime yesterday and has been cloudy since. Currently it's 33 & clear. Tomorrow might even bring some sun, but the highs will only be in the 40's.

The river flooding in some areas have crested, but it still covers the land around it. Seen reports of the mountain conditions. All passes are closed due to the heavy snowfall and avalanche dangers. Small towns, such as Leavenworth i guess has declared an emergency because of getting 36 inches of snow in 24 hours (IIRC) and also seen a headline (story behind paywall, so I didn't get to read it all) that Roslyn, the same town the tv show Northern Exposure was filmed....that some residents had to be evacuated because of the snow loads were compromising their apartment building, possibly other buildings as well. Just crazy,

The stars are out bright this morning. Looks like it will be another sunny day. Its only 10 degs so not too bad. I'll spend some time widening the road today so I can get the propane and diesel delivery trucks up here this week. We've had so much snow and cloudy weather this winter that we haven't been getting much solar. Have had to depend on the diesel generator more than expected. I really need to get that wind generator set up before next winter.

Woke up to tornado watches, effective until evening. It for an area just south of me, sold a lot of cattle down there in years past.

So, I'm in "one eye on the weather" mode for the next few hours. It's 59 degrees and raining. Coming a flood in fact! It keeps up we'll have flash flood warnings soon.

@Peanut Do you have a shelter at your place? I’m surprised in our searching for a new home that I would say far less than 1/2 of the places we are seeing have any sort of storm shelter. If we buy a place that doesn’t have one we’ve agreed it will get one.
Today High of 57* with a low of 36*
