Lows 20s and windy this morning. Cloudy but not expecting any precip
We're on the second day of enjoying the @Pearl special we ordered.:woo hoo:
Buy 2 get one free!
Total overcast with no sun, temps in the 30's, and a bonus non-stop 15mph wind!

Hibernation will end monday.

32 on my porch this afternoon... brrrr. 2 days ago it was 65.

Normally, I get 4 maybe 5 heavy frosts a year. A couple nights each winter it might get to 20 degrees. A dusting of snow maybe...

I've had 3 times those numbers this winter and it's still Jan! Enough already!!!

It's global warming..., or something.
I am going to but a ford station wagon with a 460 and 4 barrel carb to cruise around just to see if it will warm up. When I am back at home I am going to light a bon fire in the south yard to show the sun how it works. ;)

Actually I am enjoying the winter. It is only going to last a month or two before the spring showers show up.

It was 2 degrees when I took the kid to school this morning, about half the kids in the car line were wearing shorts. I question the parenting abilities of a lot of folks.
Parental inability is upon us! I feel you should be financially and mentally ABLE to do the job or DO NOT have kids! My opinion.

LOL! I used to see this kind of behavior when I was teaching. Some children would come to school without a jacket, on really cold days. They were not allowed to go out to recess without a coat or jacket, so they would hit up Lost and Found and borrow something to wear.
Last week it was cold, and there were a couple of guys at the dog park wearing down jackets and shorts. One guy had on flip-flops.

What if theres some sort of trouble and they have to go outside or your car breaks down. Maybe I think too much but my kids going to be wearing long johns and a good coat!

It's comforting to know you'll be one of the survivors if shtf in your neighborhood. 😁

I think like this, but maybe it was walking 7 blocks to school in South Dakota winters that has me in that mindset. What are the parents thinking? What are they teaching their children?
I once had a student who protested wearing a coat to school, saying he wasn't cold. His mother started sending him outside, telling him she would be right out. Then she would take longer than usual and the kid would come back in saying he was cold.

I rarely wear shoes in the house, barefoot in summer, thick fuzzy socks in winter. I do have "yard slippers" if I step out on the porch to feed the dogs. But in the house? Nope...

Funny, I once spent 49 days in a gold prospectors camp. While there one of the ladies knitted slippers for all the guys, out of yarn!!! I was polite and appreciative of her efforts. But, they were the kind of thing I'd put in a yard sale just to see who'd buy them.... 🤣

Mine were out of bright red yarn!!! Maybe use them to sneak up on a clown convention? Clown Camo!!!!
