We're down to only about 2-3 feet of snow on the ground. We finally got a little snow today but not nearly enough. We get virtually all of our annual moisture between November and April in the form of snow. We depend on a heavy mountain snow pack to keep our streams and lakes full, and to help reduce the summer fire danger.

Has anyone have a prepper map figured out yet?

Aside from @WVDragonlady being south and west of me.. I am lost with your updates.

Can any of us consolidate our locations to make the weather updates more useful?

Ben

It would help if folks would put their state in their profile info

I posted the video because he does the whole country's weather, so you just have to watch it for your area

Yesterday we had a little snow, temperatures stayed just below freezing. It is 20F outside now and it is expected to be a sunny day, getting to about 35F before the day is done....

We only got about an inch or so of snow last night. We're getting some light snow now, but we need a lot more.
I'm warming up a couple gallons of oil by the wood stove so I can finishing changing oil in the tractor. It doesn't flow very well in cold temps.

I remember way back in the 80's hubby used to use a dipstick that you could plug into the electric and it heated up and kept the oil warm in his truck so it would start in the mornings. wonder if that kind of thing still exists and would work in a tractor?

wow that was so long ago. geesh I'm getting so old 😊

We still use oil and coolant heaters in our vehicles. My tractor has a block heater and cylinder head heater. My truck has a tank heater, oil pan heater and battery charger. Once I get the oil in the tractor its fine. But adding 2-1/2 gallons of oil thats been stored in the cold doesn't flow very well.

I think there's supposed to be another front moving through this weekend. We've had wind & rain down here in the valley and snow all around. Seems to be moving from west to east so far.

Good. Send us all the moisture you can. We'll take it all. Last summer was exceptionally dry. We ran out of grass by July and had to sell most of the cattle.

WINDY, very WINDY! Big South wind before the cold front and T-storms tonight!!☹🌬⛈! A lot of fires popping up again today too!!😟🔥
Yep. We got your shipment today! This morning my joints were on fire screaming: "Something's coming! gaah" (they are never wrong).
Outside, winds gusting over 40mph was the second clue.
Checked the forecast: 100% chance of rain tomorrow.
We need the moisture down here, been fighting low humidity (less than 40%) for weeks.
When I sit down in the chair at my desk, I have to tap my metal watch-band on the bed rail to discharge the static-electricity. You can see the spark and hear the snap.
If I use my hand, it bites.

Heads up people

We are right at the point of the arrowhead. Should we be worried? We have a Winter Storm Alert that says we are supposed to get 3" of snow, but it is 62 and supposed to be warm the rest of the week. If is snows I don't see it sticking. More than likely rain.
