Rained overnight, high winds, the temperature is warmer than usual but the winds make it feel cool. The temperature is expected to get to the mid 60s and then start cooling down again... For the weekend we are expecting more of the same, just a little cooler, mid 40s....

Same here. We got an inch of rain. It just pounded down last night.
Then the winds came. 60mph gusts.
Trees were down. We stopped and helped some neighbors move what they cut up off the road before we could get to the main road here.
Power went out but came back on quick. (just enough that I have to set all the clocks again  )
Had a snow squaw come through at lunchtime.
Temps are dropping all day. We're down into the 30's now
Supposed to be back up to almost 60 on monday
We might be looking at snow again next week sometime

Saw a flock of robins in the larger town when we went in to the credit union

Astronomically speaking Spring began in the northern hemisphere around February 5th. It will be halfway through on the equinox (the day weathermen and calendar printers call the first day of spring) Mar. 20th. The four solar celebrations, two equinoxes and two solstices, are very easy to recognize and have always been celebrated by the hunter gatherers and the agrarian societies throughout history. When the orbit of the Earth was taken into account it was noted by science that those holidays actually marked the midpoint in each of the four seasons. science once again takes a back-seat to popular practice.

Tornadoes again this week! Tuesday night through Thursday. Oh Goody! At least it's not going to be snow and ice.

It was bright and sunny today, temps about 60. Beautiful day.

We got about 8 to 10 inches of snow overnight, it makes the spruce trees look pretty, nothing we can't handle, kind of cold -15 C it has been above freezing for parts of the day for , weeks, I think, once it got muddy enough to make skidding wood a pain.

Another week of weather

Me thinks you need to change your screensaver 😂

Snow all around us and snowed all day on the slopes. Just some rain here in the valley but it's supposed to turn to snow through the night. High near 40 tomorrow so it won't stick around long even if it does. We need the moisture.

Uuugghh...another week of lousy weather coming ,
Starts tomorrow Monday...rain, Tuesday ,rain.
Wednesday cold showers , Thursday , rain and flooding with ice and snow late .

I tell ya, we're cursed.

Jim

I was reading the other day... the basic rule of thumb, 1 inch of rain = 10 inches of snow (depends on several factors).

So I figured up my "snow total" for last year based on my rain, about 63 feet.

I'd rather have the rain... ;)

We almost had snow today but mother nature just didn't have enough to go around.
So no weather here just a teaser.

Still humid and quite warm out, dark, overcast, before it got dark the clouds were almost popcorn looking which usually spells severe weather including tornadoes. Currently 76 degrees. Be safe.
A severe t-storms watch just posted! A lot of lightning to the west! It's coming Patch, may be a hail event?!

@Pearl Not feeling very cheerful about this one. I usually enjoy severe weather. Batten down your hatches and check your supply of tea and dry matches. Guess I’d better tune in to a forecast.
Our wind is crazy right now, looks like three different lines of storms!

I got over 3" of rain today, it's finally stopped. The front was coming up from the gulf. Tomorrow evening it's supposed to change direction and come back with tornadoes and more rain. Basically the weather @Pearl n @Patchouli are having now.

You ladies keep the weather alert radio handy.
The wind is crazy right now! Thanks Peanut!
