We have been having temps between high 80s up to high 90s. We have had 1/2" of rain in the last 5 weeks and the forecast has 2 days with possible rain in the next 2 weeks. The garden is not liking this, but it happens almost every year...

Clouds are rumbling... hoping for a shower here pronto.

Edit: Whoowhee!!! It's comin' down now, that's for sure... thunder & lightning adding dramatic effects! :)

One of my weed plants looks like it's on the way out, but the others will surely appreciate this rain... ;)

Had enough rain yesterday afternoon and in the middle of the night to forgo watering this morning... nice to "sleep in" without having to get up early and water to beat the heat.

We had a nice weekend, but now we are under another heat advisory. Forecast is in the mid 90's until the end of the week.

Phone keeps going off with tornado warnings this afternoon...it's well to the south of me but I'm watching it carefully. 70 and humid with a few rain showers here at the house...unfortunately the rain wakes up the nasty smell from the neighbor's field. Supposed to head back up into the mid 90s this week. So tired of summer.

Over cast the last couple days, cooler, upper 80's. Got an inch of badly needed rain sun&mon, it saved my pepper plants. Chance of showers this evening also.

It's hurricane season, august is here! Checked the national hurricane center a bit ago. Water temps in the gulf at 88 degrees. Not a single storm off the coast of Africa, unusual this time of year.

This is always good news...

It's 75° and clear! Send help!

Or...maybe never mind the help thing. We're good.

The weather here has menopause.

One day it's freezing, wet and icy and you can't get warm.
Next day it's a little cool, the sun comes out and it's warm enough to wear a t-shirt until 4 in the afternoon.

As I said before, this time of year - winter/ the dry season is when I would have grown standard European type veggies like tomatoes, broccoli, zucchini etc.
It's dry and cool NEVER cold and wet.
My garden would have completely failed if I had been allowed to plant it.

They are saying we are in for a hectic time for our coming wet season with a lot more cyclones crossing the coast.
A lot of rain and heat means 100% humidity.
Crops getting root rot and mildew.
At higher heat even tropical crops stop growing and drop their flowers and any set fruit.
Elephant grass and other tropical weeds jumping out of the ground at a foot per day.

I had better stock up on more blackberry strength roundup because I'm still committed to a "scorched earth" policy
for my front yard and nature strip.
