Our 'daily rain' was a dismal disappointment today .
Lots of loud boom-booms, fierce CTG lightening, but not enough rain to register on the gauge.

I think it heard me talkin' bad about it...
Today was get even with Super day.
.82" in 50-minutes!
The good news: we ain't gotta water plants tonight, and no mowing for a couple of days!

We spiked up from daily highs of 71F to 101F. It's a cool 71F inside the school with no fans or AC. As long as the nights keep dropping down to 60's, we're good.

I mulched everything deep and only need to water a bit, every once in a while.

We finally got some rain last night, I thought the thunderstorms were all going to miss us but one hit good. Got 1.5" of rain in like 30 mins or so. Right after I watered but still not going to complain.

It rained over here enough to have a little trickle running down either side of the road. Grateful for that. Now if it would just go ahead and rain enough so it doesn’t smell yucky from not raining enough.

No, @Pearl it smelled dirty! Still does! I guess it’ll dry up tomorrow. Had thunder and lightning too. There’s the other smell that happens with rain and to me, it smells like earthworms. Haha. The clean smell. ⛈

Caught some more rain yesterday afternoon, and possibly last night while I was asleep... ground was still damp this morning, so I don't have to water the trees & plants.


We have more clouds stacked on the horizon, so with luck we catch more rain this afternoon...

The last few days it's been just over 100 n slightly windy. Not a great combo..my area has has a few small fires too. 3 were very close to my home. One got started by a swathe doing hay. They got it out pretty quick thankfully. Another was a tractor in a field down the hill..and another was a new neighbor across the hill about half a mile away wanted to get rid of weeds n started a fire on purpose...gah!
Yea he got rid of some weeds alright..lol..
He seems like a nice guy but also someone who learns the hard way alot.
I really want to wack down some more weeds but the fire danger is too high for the mower. Might have to use a hand tool.
