99°, MAYBE, just MAYBE it will make it!! GREAT pool day!!
No rain today!!! :woo hoo:
DW got the front lawn mowed!:D (it was getting pretty tall)
Attempted to do the back yard - not happening. The mower would bog down bad enough to kill the 21hp engine.
Only 50% chance for the next 4 days so maybe, just maaaybe, we can get it done.
(You have to remember, 50% for us means it is going to only rain half of the day:().

@Supervisor42 any news on the big spinners? Last I saw there were only 2 storms in the atlantic. The one near the lesser antilles had potential.
Not yet. Both are far enough away I firmly believe we will exit August (one of the most active months) with ZERO , zip, nada, spinny-things. (Which will be historic).
I firmly believe it has been dosing us daily with rain for weeks instead of "bundling" it all up into one big turd for us to deal withgaah.
I am totally good with that!

Yeah, PST#4 don't count.;)
It didn't even rank as a 'pretend-icane' in my book even though y'all folks in MS and AL managed to milk a lot of rain out of it:rolleyes:.
We even got some up to @Pearl ! :woo hoo:

I got another inch of rain on Friday, so that was good. Was supposed to possibly rain on Thursday but now looks like nothing. 😑

@Plainflatlander Did you get storms on Friday? Not sure where in Mass you are, I'm on the CT border, technically Western Mass but close to the middle of the state. We had a brief tornado warning, but thankfully nothing happened.

There's a 50% chance of rain tonight then a slight chance on Sunday. We're in a critical drought now. Fun. 🙄

@Chaosdawn , Friday we had a 1/3 of an inch. We did have some storms but they were fairly weak. Still dry here overall. I live near the RI Border.

Rain pretty much all day today - temp around 70. Very nice.

Overcast sky means lower temps... very nice for yard work earlier! Dunno if we'll have any measurable rain, I saw a few sprinkles & drops in the birdbaths, but that was about it. No worries, work is done for the day: if it rains, great, and if it doesn't rain, well, maybe tomorrow, lol. I reckon these lower temps are good for all the trees & plants, nothing is getting scorched like it did earlier in the year with severe drought & triple-digit weather!

Pearl, I'm hoping for an early fall, it almost feels like one is on the way, since the temps here have NOT been very hot lately! Suits me just fine, I'm already tired of hot weather... must be getting old or something!

Ah, so not too far from me, I was just curious. 😁 Too bad you didn't get more rain, we're all having a rough time with it. Hoping for a little tonight but doesn't look good.

DW got the backyard mowed! :woo hoo:
I had to take the chute-cover off so the clippings had somewhere to go.
The old country-boy in me couldn't help but look at the furrows and wonder how many days for it to dry before we can rake&bale it:rolleyes:.
Just in time too, the sky just opened up and dumped .32" rain on us in a half-hour:oops:.
No baleing for couple days.
Our backyard soon:thumbs: :

I've got my grandpa's old horse drawn dump hay rake. I've strongly considered raking my field during heavy rain seasons

I still have our old rake. I remember using it. Dad drove the tractor while I operated the rake. I built the chisel plow in front when I was in trade school... used a coil spring from a buick to give it flexibility.

Had a big day planned until a thunder storms dumped and inch of rain. Couple more showers in the afternoon, overcast and cool, 70's. Everything is a soggy mess outside.

My grandpa drove his little Farm all Cub and I rode the rake. It was a cheap way to put up hay in small fields.

We were expecting rain yesterday and not a drop fell. Small cold front came thru overnight and pushed most of the humidity out. 66 this morning mid to upper 80s this afternoon

I remember one of my neighbors made hay with a dump rake. He would let us kids operate it. Towed it will his doodlebug. Great memories.

Peanut, I have an old rake like that (if you mean the one with wheels at the back) but its buried in weeds.
It was 90° yesterday and rained a little. Mild thunderstorms last night. Sky looks pretty right now though.

I woke last night to the sound of thunder, how far off I sat and wondered...

We got some thunder/rain last night, around .33". Better than nothing.
Started humming a song from 1962, we had a nice downpour and some lighter rain last night. Half inch here. Waited on the thunder, but it never materialized.
