it is still cool here, almost -40 this morning, only just got the house up to temp, (68ish f) not southern temps, it is slowly warming up, supposed to get highs just below freezing after tomorow

Today was supposed to be rain but it turned out to be a very nice partly cloudy day with the high around 36F. Supposed to be -1 at 9 AM tomorrow and snow but only around an inch. Might see 3 inches as they are saying higher elevations could see that. But, nothing extreme besides the abnormal cold next 2 days.

I just can't see it dropping 45° in one day.

Just following along, we never got above 57, so the 66 was false.
Watching the temps plunge 10 degrees each hour, as they predicted...
We are prepared for that.
But the evil Yankee winds (30-40mph), have descended upon us .
On a side note, I should have taken and posted a picture of the great job I did hanging the beautiful light strings on the front of the house.
General Sherman has laid waste to them.

Negative 7 with high winds was the worst of it today. Tomorrow will be starting at 0, so that's alot better, and only 15mph winds. We'll start getting into the 20's Saturday, and that'll be alot better.

Yesterday's high +4 degs. A little snow last night. Snow is expected every day until next Saturday, heavy at times and drifting. Just normal winter weather for here.

9 degrees and dropping. 40+ mph winds. Blowing and drifting snow, with ice underneath from yesterday's rain. Lots of cold drafts from the windows. The birds are getting some wild rides as the wind flings the feeders around but it doesn't seem to faze them.
Seeing the very typical winter pattern with the lake effect snow bands.

+3 on my back porch this morning, wind chill makes it about -10. At 7pm it was 50 degrees on my front porch, +3 by 7am. Supposed to warm up Sunday.

21* F right now, forecast high of 40* F, and a low of 15* F tonight... so we're catching a little of that whole mess. Meh, no plans today except to hang out here on the property and do chores, maybe read a good book. There's a little sun, but the clouds are filtering it and it's rather weak. Good day to stay indoors.
