We have gotten hammered with rain this week. The airport recorded over 9" which is almost double what we get for the month. There are flash flood warnings out now. The storms have cooled things off a bit so temps are expected to be in the high 80's the next couple of days, but back into the mid 90;s later in the week.

It's been feast or famine with the rain! Many places flooding and many getting no rain at all!!

Triple digits again... forecast said low 100s, but my outdoor thermometer read 110* F today, that thermometer is about 2' below the metal cover of the front porch, so maybe the reading was high despite the shade. But it felt like 110* F out there, lol. Oh, well, once it cools off I'll water the trees & plants again, some of 'em are struggling to survive in this ongoing heat. I've already lost 2 pine trees since my arrival 1-1/2 years ago, though one of 'em was killed by bark beetles, pine borers, whatever... I'm trying really hard not to lose any more trees, but it's tough in this miserable drought. 😒

Sloppy, humid, hot. I have to get out in it in a few minutes too.
1 damn bill to pay. If I'm really lucky the supply store has that steel I need for an Ulu.
