Summer in Texas. No garden. No flowers. Just a few things in pots on the front porch since the squirrels will kill everything I put out back. Grass and weeds are dead so I don’t have to mow or pull weeds. Yay, go me.
More heinous temps today.

I keep an eye on a few places weather-wise and saw Quanah had thunderstorms last night at 100 degrees. Been raining more there than here, which I find weird considering it’s in the lower east of the panhandle.

Well what do you know I can still move pretty quick if need be had to play capture the laundry

Hot, not as muggy today, heat index around 110 degrees, fine summer weather. The storms have been east or north of me, so far. They are dropping to the south a little bit. Wait and see mode here. I used to cut hay in mid august, most years anyway, miss cutting hay but not being out in the heat.

It hit 80 degs yesterday. Had to sleep with the ceiling fan on most of the night. It might get even hotter today. I'll probably have to turn the AC on later today.

Windows and both sliding patio doors have been open in the house for weeks. It was 60ºF in the house when I got up this morning. Slept with a wool blanket and quilt.

Rainy and 68 outside, the AC comes on about every 4 hours and keeps the humidity in check.

It has consistently been 103 and above the last several days. Grass is drying up in the fields. Been 90+ at night. Autumn can't start soon enough.

Today's high was 78 degs, thats plenty hot enough for me. I almost had to turn the AC on. The ceiling fans are enough, plus since the sun is down it cools off fast, usually.
