We haven't had a meaningful rain in over a month and the area is starting feel like Texas.
They are even limiting water usage in the city to the east of us.
We are not California!!
I think even a small spinny-thing would be welcomed with open arms.

I was woke up at 2am to the strong smell of smoke. I don't think we have any close fires around here so the smoke could have come down from your fire or the ones in Oregon.87 and very windy with red flag warnings.
There is a 400 acre wildfire burning to the northwest of us, hoping it doesn't reach us. The smoke is awful.
Louisiana is supposed to follow IRC (international Residential Code) for building but there are a lot of no contract handshake deals without permits. I was actually told by the health department inspector that I didn't need permits to renovate the house (although I did need permits for stuff involving septic tank). I saw about 20 construction sites in town and only 2 of them had permits (I forget the website link now, but they used to list the permits).Being in Louisiana, it probably wasn't built to code anyway. If Louisiana even has building codes...

We been warming it up real good though.@Supervisor42 the gulf temp is still below 90. Even if a cane made it into the gulf it'd stay small. That's subject to change by labor day. Looking like you're correct about ga this summer. Every storm so far has skirted north of the antillies.
Nice day out 80's and no rain for 2 days.
Lots of billions of horsepower out there.Gulf bathtub water
This week was the hottest the Gulf of Mexico has been on record.
The weekly average Gulf sea surface temperatures broke 88 degrees for the first time since 1981. That average takes into account all sectors of the Gulf.
The reading is a staggering 2.6 degrees Fahrenheit above the 1991 to 2020 average. ...Sea surface temperature readings in the Gulf of Mexico are in the upper 80s and even some 90s offshore.
