Quite warm here today and very breezy. The recent storm mainly hit the south and east coast, leaving trees down and power outages, but we got off lightly with little damage. The wind and rain was ferocious though- I can't remember such a storm at this time of year before.

We had tornado warnings a few counties away a week or so ago. I actually went to the the tv weather to see if I could catch the latest information. I noticed that every single channel I looked at had a young woman in a tight sweater. I was so distracted by the unprofessional appearance I never did actually see the weather. Why do women think they have to dress like a tart? Or is that the station owner fixating on eye candy? I wish a sense of modesty and self respect was still in style.

I think it’s the station wanting their news/weather people to look like that. I’ve very rarely seen any news woman who have any age in them.

There is a website for "weather girl" clothes!! Their hair is supposed to straight, long, no bangs! ☹️

I toldya' we were bidding hard on this one...
We are already feeling the effects of "Nine".
Wind is blowing from the wrong direction (east), instead of the west (normal).
So far, it is only raining pine-needles from the neighbor's tree :(.
We are sooo ready for rain, 6" would vanish in an hour.:)
Sorry we don't have a cool name like "Hilary":(.
Come, rains, come!:woo hoo:

Looking at the 'future radar', I think @Pearl is gonna win.

Heat warnings here until Thursday. 104 today and tomorrow. 102 on Wednesday and Thursday. Such high humidity this time of year, we'll see heat indexes up around 110. Then to flip everything on it's head, we will see 80 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday for highs!

Working down at the farm yesterday wasn't too bad. It was 108, but the humidity was only around 40% and there was a light breeze, so it wasn't terrible to be outside working. Now 4 hours northeast of the farm, it's a wet hot blanket outside.

Far south Texas, just plain ol' hot up my way!! May get some clouds, but higher humidity! I'm still winning the high temperature game!

@Supervisor42 I don't think it is any big deal, nothing catastrophic. Keep an eye on the ocean, three more headed west. It would figure there would be action with potential hurricanes, as if nothing else is going on. NINE, would possibly become Harold, and things look favorable for heading west across Texas instead of heading up this way, darn it. We are still under a fire weather warning and have been for weeks.

:dunno:

It's moving way too fast to 'develop'. Definitely headed to south Texas.
We have had crazy winds all morning though, ~25mph+.
Good thing we don't have anything to burn.

How do you remove snow on your driveway during the winter?
I've got a total of about 3 miles of road to clear. I've got a 4 wheel drive JD tractor with a 9 foot snow blade on front, and an 8 foot blade on the rear, and all 4 tires chained. Also have a 6 foot 25 hp snow blower that I mount on to a CanAm side by side equipped with tracks, a walk behind 3 stage tracked snow blower and an atv with a snow plow. I use the tractor and plow until the snow gets too deep, then I bring out the big snowblower. Every winter we get snowed in for 3 to 6 weeks.
This is why stocking up on food, fuel, spare parts etc is so critical for us.

I have snow removal equipment envy. I have only an old 1999 4WD with a Western 8-ft hydraulic plow.
