It's really not too bad here being only 40 miles away from the Pacific Ocean. Clear skies, 26F by 3 a.m. and around 43F at 2 p.m. and no wind in the day time. The Rocky Mountains a few hundred miles east of us are just high enough they're blocking a lot of the colder temperatures from the Arctic system heading west from the northeast. Pacific Ocean keeps the coastal regions pretty warm, like it's not really uncomfortable outside if you're dressed warmly. But as soon as the sun sets below the horizon in the west it's like getting hit with a hammer, the wind comes up immediately and temperature rapidly plunges to below freezing temps in only 5 to 10 minutes. Wham!!!!
