Multiple fires have broken out across the Carolinas, forcing hundreds to evacuate from their homes, with the situation especially bad in South Carolina, where Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency on Sunday.

Meanwhile, in western North Carolina, crews were trying to contain several wildfires in four forests across the state.

All of us in North Texas need to keep up on the weather!! 3 am out my way, morning heading east!! The severe outlook is ramping up!!

Ok! That’s what I thought I saw on other forecasts on Friday for tonight and tomorrow, they mentioned “spin-ups.” And hail.
It was 53 earlier, 61 now. Completely overcast.

I have been there but didn't know there is a fire now. Usually that area is pretty wet

Huge forest fire right on the outskirts of Myrtle Beach. People in the area say it's very dry. I guess they didn't get all the snow earlier that everybody else on the East Coast got.

You tube has many news videos of the fires and the fires are as bad as it gets. Looks to be just as bad as California's fires just recently.

Cold today and cloudy, 36*. Rain and snow headed our way later tonight. Back up into the 40s and 50's in the next 24 hours or so so I'll just let it melt. Good to have an all wheel drive.

About 6 inches of snow, but it shrinks fast at 40 F , just enough to make things messy, ground is still froze so it will just run off when it melts

Tornado warnings coming through Oklahoma tonight. Hits my area after midnight. Small tornadoes that will just come down and go right back up, but if one comes down on my house....... not good.

Ok, make that 4 am!! 68° and the wind is easing up, lots of thunder and lightning to my west. Just waiting.......

We've been getting hammered by these storms!!! I guess my anemometer is gone (blown or hailed away), had a 76 mph wind gust and now it's not registering!! So far only small hail, but the winds are crazy!! Pouring rain!!

@Pearl this is kinda scary! @Jen I heard a forecast before bed, the guy said tornadoes could develop very suddenly.
Hearing continual thunder, freaky. Sirens. Okay, it is definitely here.

Calming down here! More lightning to the west, another round of non severe storms and then it's done!! Supposed to have 50-60 mph wind gusts all day behind this front!! Yuck!!

I posted all that in "What's Everybody Doing Today"! Hopefully going to work, on little sleep. Hubby is supposed to move a hospital bed for the couple I'm cleaning for, but it's supposed to be crazy windy today! Hubby got up when the storms started hitting and came out in the den with me and the critters. He said, " WOW, it sounds serious out there", laid down on the couch and went to sleep!! I've been awake since 3 am, was up some around midnight! Maybe I'll take a nap right now!!

The meteorologists don't like to mention anything west of the Metroplex! It's growing like crazy out this way, they'll have to realize we exist eventually!!

Strongest winds of the year this morning... Gusts easily over 65mph.
Even blew over my buttbottle full of water (and butts, on the patio).
