The lady is making something today called "Tom & Jerry" batter. It's sounds like it's eggs, powdered sugar, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg and ends up as thick as ice cream. You add a scoop of it to hot water then pour in 2oz of dark rum. I am being told it's like hot eggnog with a kick.
When I was in college in South Dakota, this was a thing for the drinkers this time of year. I was still trying to drink and before I realized it just made me really sick. I could never get past a taste or two of Tom and Jerry's.

Tom & Jerry (the drink)

First prepare a batter, using a mixing bowl. Separate the yolk and white of one egg, beating each separately and thoroughly. Then combine both, adding enough superfine powedered sugar to stiffen. Add to this one pinch of baking soda and 1/4 oz. rum to preserve the batter. Then add a little more sugar to stiffen.

To serve, use a hot mug, 1 tablespoon of the batter dissolved in 3 tablespoons hot milk. Add 1 1/2 ounce rum. Fill the mug with hot milk within 1/4 inch of the top of the mug and stir. Add 1/2 ounce brandy and sprinkle a little nutmeg on top.

Somewhere I have a Tom & Jerry punch bowl with cups. I always wondered what the drink was like.
