Tonight I was really tired for some reason. So I just went to the grocery store deli and got some fried chicken. A super-healthy (yeah, right!) comfort food. Their chicken is actually quite tasty there. Right at 7:00pm they mark it down to get rid of it. The 8-piece dinner is normally $7.99, but at 7:00pm it goes down to $2.49. I was right there at 7:00 to get me some. It was really good tonight. Like they just cooked a batch at 6:55 and then marked it discounted 5 minutes later.

The wife isn't much into fried chicken, so I cooked her up some perogies - basically pasta shells filled with either mashed potatoes or cheese (or both!) We used to make them from scratch, but you can buy them frozen now. The frozen ones don't take any effort. Boil them for a few minutes, then into a frying pan with browned butter to crisp them a little, drizzle sour creme on top. Usually I caramelize some onions in the frying pan with them too, but I didn't do that tonight.
