@Buffalo just realized Kansas is one of the few states I've never been to. Had plenty of german food in the rust belt though.

I just had the toughest ribeye I've ever tried to eat. Must be processing old cows for steaks now. I've sold more than a few old cows in my life, heard they usually go for burger. Don't know for sure.
Not being a big fan of eating beef…daughter bought ribeye the other day and I read a little about it, etc. Cooked it and was NOT impressed. Certainly don’t need all that fat. Had taters with it, precious. Tonight had chicken baked with a lot of powdered ginger and soy sauce on it. Very tasty. Green beans. Jasmine rice.

Ha! great minds.. what was that again? 😁

Had chinese for lunch in the big town! Also got groceries. For supper I made a batch of creamed potatoes w/fresh butter/garlic/sourcream/whlemlk. Had green onions too! They made the rest of that tough steak seem much nicer!

Tonight, we had home made chicken rice-a-roni,

4 chicken thighs, a half cup of browned pine nuts, 1/2 cup of rice, 1/2 cup of orzo, veggies (onion, celery, garlic, carrot) all diced up small, a cup of frozen peas and 2 cups of chicken stock. It just hit the spot. Brown pine nuts in a little oil and remove, brown the chicken thighs, remove from the pan, throw the veggies (save the peas), rice, and orzo in the pan and stir fry in the fat from the chicken for a while, then add the chicken stock and peas, place the chicken thighs on top, cover and simmer for about half an hour...
