Still on my mission to empty the chest freezer- it could be a long-running thread of it's own!. 😂 occasionally it means giving people different dinners; so three of them are having salmon wrapped in pastry- sounds posh but it's from Lidl- another is having some leftover spag bol sauce with pasta, and I'm having what looks like minestrone soup but I can't confirm until it's deforested lol. I'm terrible for labelling leftovers!

Holy Cow! That roast beef dinner was delicious! I'm comfortably full now, so I reckon I'll do the dishes and then lie down and read a good Western... if I don't fall asleep, I *might* have a piece of that German Chocolate cake as a late dessert two hours from now, with a tall glass of milk to wash it down, lol. Y'all be good, I'm off to scrub dishes & pans...

Tomorrow's another day, youse H&CL heroes! HASTA LUEGO!!!

Torn on Wild Turkey or a fancy dinner out. Wife was playing in the creek on the property looking for crayfish to feed to her Opossum (shells are good for them) and two things happened. Dog was in the creek and caught a Wild Turkey that came down for water and killed it so cooking that is one option. Second thing that happened was she rolled over a rock and found a half ounce gold nugget. Had no clue there was gold on the property but suspected due to the massive quartz deposits I've hit.

Steak, southwest salad, sourdough bread and potatoes with cab franc wine
Celebrating having our solar done!
Hubby cooked the steak over our outdoor fire in the pyro.

yesterday I made potato soup with sausage and streuselcake Streuselkuchen (Classic German Crumb Cake) - Recipes From Europe

my recipe has less sugar and no vanille or salt in dough

I like to make soup when it's wet and cold out

We usually have soup about once a week, I like to bake something to go along with it
Growing up we always had something sweet with soup, like pancakes, or a sweet cake like the one I made, or Kaisersmarren ( Austrian pancakes), or waffles

Soups I make most: potato, lentil split pea, chicken noodle or rice, kale and sausage, spicy Indian chicken, cream of butternut squash or pumpkin, French onion

Today : lamb shoulder roast, sweet and sour red cabbage and potatoes
