What Are You Having For Dinner

Pitas stuffed with deli sliced turkey, thin and crispy bacon, deluxe white American cheese and a few thin slices of tomato then put in a panini press. I now legally own 50% of a panini press and decided to use it tonight. Never even heard of such a thing, but it's kind of cool. I am also providing some finger veggies with leftover spinach-artichoke dip and ice cold Sun Drop soda.

Back to actual cooking for dinner tonight

Going to make baked breaded Chicken Breasts stuffed with Havarti cheese, bacon and broccoli, on a bed of brown and wild rice (cooked with red pepper, onion, garlic, parmesan cheese).

I am making a creamy chicken and vegetables mixture in the slow cooker to put on top of buttermilk biscuits. I will be pairing it with a Dr. Pepper.

I have never heard of bacon gravy, but I like the idea of it. We grew up with lots of gravy. I think it was a way of stretching food. We had hamburger gravy, made from the drippings of fried hamburgers. Some people had never heard of hamburger gravy. And evidently there is an art to being able to make gravy from scratch.

Growing up if it made grease when you cooked it we made gravy. Chocolate gravy and hot biscuits is one of my favorite gravy’s

It took me hours to clean the stove and get it all put back together, so, it's too late, and I'm too tired to cook. So my planned dish will have to wait until tomorrow.

My favorite mini tomatoes with Vidalia onion dressing
Very well pan fried in olive oil sliced crispy potatoes ..with a bit of sea salt
and some Portuguese style seasoned chicken pieces

I will cut a piece of cheese cake later with and warm warm Italian coffee y crema

I decided on a Marie Callender's Beef Pot Pie. Only 10 mins in the microwave.

Yeah, quite a step down from what I originally planned.

Power was off today so i got lunch a the place down the road. Meatloaf, cabbage, mexican cornbread and peanut butter cake for dessert. Hotdogs for dinner tonight.

Hope it's good! I told little granddaughter that I missed having the Thanksgiving lunch that they used to have at the little grade school in our town. I went each year, and the food was good. The "superintendent" would give in and we would say a prayer before the meal because it was alot of amish in attendance, not too shabby for a public school. Too bad it got shut down last year. Now she goes to school in a whole different town, and no Thanksgiving anything. They instead had Red Ribbon Week for not doing drugs. Not the same. (sigh).
