Gas is up to $4.79 a gallon. That makes $0.25 in a week or so. I told K we need to top off our gas cans asap.

Just some advice, if you have a freezer store bread, meal and flour. when it tops 5.00 a gallon, good luck finding any outside a city with a bakery.

This thread has gotten more volatile than the Stock Market ticker tape. Holy Cow, that is a blast from the past. Who remembers that? I think we are in the $3.60's here. I don't think it has hit $3.70 yet.

I watch the ticker tape every weekday on the bottom of the Fox Business News channel screen. I finally figured out what it tells you and why it is important.
As for the rising gas prices, they are about to find out that supply & demand still rules the day.
If you raise prices enough, people don't buy near as much of your product. :(
As I said earlier, I can now take a walk up and down our street without having to dive in the ditch to dodge the constant stream of young people that go to the store every 20 minutes.
"OMG! I'm out of butter!gaah I'll be back in a minute".
Yeah, I'm heartbroken.:cry::rolleyes:

Just went to fill up my wagon before going to Costco...

The price at the local station was $4.99! It jumped 20 cents overnight!

So we went down the road to the station that was posted as $4.95...

They had the pumps turned off because the clerk was changing the prices! He changed it to $5.19!!!!! So we went back to the other station for $4.99.

We went to a station that was priced $4.95 (cheap for here) but they turned the pumps off to increase the prices...

About half a dozen cars pulled out when they saw him increase the price by 24 cents a gallon.

Ours jumped another .20 cent overnight to 4.09, that's 70 to 80 cents in one week.. Diesel just shy of 5 bucks a gallon. Groceries up...................again, even my high protein dog food I buy for my boys went up by 5 bucks per 50# bag.

I'm so happy I could spit.

Just filled up K's car and 3 gas cans before the price jumped again. Still at $4.99.

Premium was 4.399 when I filled the scooter up today, luckily it only took 1.5 gallons.

Regular was 3.799

This is getting really old, really fast.
I drive 35 miles one way to work. I'm about ready to start looking for a motorcycle or an even smaller car to increase fuel mileage. My DD gets about 30 mpg. But thats still 2+ gallons a day.

While I don’t regret giving our car to an uncle in need I’m really feeling it worse driving our big trucks everywhere. That car was sure nice for running around when the truck wasn’t actually needed. Ouch especially when pulling trailers and fueling tractors at the same time. I’m having flash backs to the credit card years ago when prices were like this before and my car got totaled when I was TBoned. I only had a gas guzzling truck after that wreck too.

I get that too. I love driving my truck. I'm a big guy with a bad back and it's just more comfortable. But uses twice as much fuel. My DD is a 2005 toyota camry and I can manage 30 mpg from it. But I am so stiff when I get anywhere it takes a while to get stretched back out.
I had a little 98 honda civic that was totaled in a hail storm. Bought it from the insurance co. for $400 and drove it another 9 years. I could get 40 mpg out of it if I took it easy on it. But it needed the front end rebuilt and a new exhaust. More money than I wanted to put into a car with a totaled title. I'd love to find something similar to that now.
