Saw regular unleaded down to $3.87 per gallon yesterday... probably top off next time I'm in town.
Gasoline prices have been dropping for the last 33 days straight and not a peep will you hear from the media (except for the WH taking credit for it ).
Somebody please save us!gaah(said the greedy oil-company's stockholders)
'Supply and demand' still rule the day:
https://delawarebusinessnow.com/2022/07/gas-prices-decline-as-demand-drops-supply-increases/
The joyriders and sight-seers have changed their habits, unlikely to ever resume:(.
07-20-22: According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, gas demand dropped from 9.41 million barrels a day to 8.06 million barrels a day last week, while total domestic gas stocks increased by 5.8 million barrels. As long as these supply/demand dynamics hold, drivers will likely continue to see price relief at the pump, “And here at home, people are fueling up less, despite this being the height of the traditional summer driving season. These two key factors are behind the recent drop in pump prices.”
The bad news, it will no longer be a major issue come November.

Dropping daily here; a friend was just in our local station to get diesel for his workvan. The owner of the shop told him to wait until tomorrow (Sunday) between 9 and 11am- Applegreen are having a sale and there will be another 24c a litre off.

Something beautiful just happened in our little town - gas has been hovering around $4.95 for the longest time and then all of a sudden it dropped to $4.75 at home - but is still $4.92 nearby. Turns out a locally owned station (owned by the same family as huge construction & building supply co.) was disappointed when other stations in down didn't lower the prices from $4.95 - 4.92 when suppliers dropped the cost so they cut an extra $0.20 off the price at their station to force the other stations in town to lower the price, and say they plan to keep the prices low since they are still making a good profit anyways. :p

I know where I'll be filling up from now on!

Still $5.20 here. I use very little and my auto tank is still 3/4 full from filling 3 months ago. My mower gas is getting down but should last till late August when I expect gas prices to drop rapidly with summer over and elections coming up.

He he!
Are you old enough to remember the "gas wars" from decades ago?
This is when 2 stations across the street from each other would get in a "***-for-tat" contest lowering gas prices.
Whoever had the lowest price got all the customers . It would get insane!
We may see that again as prices fall.:)

We have 8 stations in town and one independent a mile out. That one has been running 20 cents cheaper than the others.

Gas has come down here. It is around $4.19. I wonder how long it will last? I'm not holding my breath.
It won't last long, you better grab some!... before it hits $3.99!!!

I need 1.50 gas!
A little more background: When gas spent months at $1.69, they mothballed a lot of refineries.
All those Billion$ that Americans have dumped at gas pumps have been going somewhere (sorry not us stockholders:mad:). Refinery capacity has been running at 100% capacity for months and months.
It takes million$ to upgrade even one refinery to higher output. They got that.
Million$ more to pull just one refinery out of mothballs and get it crankin' again. They got that.
It is quickly becoming a drag-race to see who can crank out the most gallons while the price is still 'up there'.
This is called "competition".

Didn't buy gas yesterday when I was in town, as the Camry tank was still nearly full, but out of habit I checked the signs, and regular unleaded is down to $3.49 per gallon. Maybe that's what I reported last time, so it's holding at $3.49 per gallon.

Edit: We're not that far from the refineries in West Texas, so maybe that's why our gas prices have dropped. ;)

I actually came out of my cave today! :woo hoo: (only happens about every week and a half:rolleyes:)
The high-priced station in the middle of town had $3.69 .
The 'Brand-New' Shell station that just opened up had $3.89 on the sign and ZERO cars at the pumps!
Sorry, you are late to the party, pal!
Our 4-dollar days are obviously gone for good.gaah

It was $3.44 this morning on my trip to town (Crossville, TN). That's down a bit. But... I'm not all that confident that it won't go back up again. Prices do tend to do that. They'll go way up, people will complain bitterly, then they'll come down a bit and people will find "relief" even though it will never come back down to where it was. Rinse, repeat.

It's been creeping up a cent every couple of days here. Was in the $4.30s a couple of weeks ago and now we're at $4.45. hoping it will climb to labor day and then drop back down...

The station is town is at $4.05 but the one near my work is at $3.85 so I've been filling up there.

About $4.00
