Vietnamese "Pho" soup.

Ingredients
8 oz rice noodles thin or pad thai style
1 teaspoon coriander seeds or 1/2 teaspoon ground
2 cloves whole or 1/4 teaspoon ground
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns or 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons ginger root minced
1/2 tablespoon chili garlic paste
8 cups chicken broth low sodium
2 strips lemon peel use carrot peeler
2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium
2 tablespoons fish sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon cinnamon
8 cups bok choy stem thinly sliced & leaves roughly chopped
1 lb shrimp raw
Optional Garnishes
thinly sliced onion
slices jalapeno
cilantro
lime wedges
hoisin sauce
sriracha
bean sprouts
Thai basil

Me, I guess I'm in the dog house. I had a microwave chicken pot pie.


It's a Philly Thing Mark... the original joint was anyway.

Small neighborhood bar where people would wait in any kind of weather to get in on any weekend night. ( regulars knew to go during the week )


Thin Crust...Layered Thin Sliced Mozzarella Cheese...covered with Italian Gravy ( it ain't Ragu )...served bubbling hot.


The Original owner sold that small place after a few generations of being in the "old" neighborhood and moved up to my neck of the woods...Ivyland, PA

So sorry to disagree wit cha Mr. Mark, but there is is such a thing as "Tomato Pie" & it goes back to the early 1900's. But it's OK, cause like Shooter said, "it's a Philly thing" & we would not expect you to know these things!

Didn't get back from the Police Range until after 8 PM so I stopped by an Italian restaurant & got me an Italian hoagie to go:
