Garden is putting along... Once I get past the 5" growth (thinking this time next year) or I'm going to have a very midget garden this year, least barbie and ken will be happy :( Our summertime weather just gone South, we now have rain rain rain winds and rain.

It was 77F today here, and sunny. Back to the 90s this weekend :(

Garden is doing pretty well. On another note, you can tell it is June. They've started cutting wheat. One field I passed today looked like it had a dust storm going, but it was a couple combines.

everyone with a tractor is cutting hay the last couple days,,,,,,we had nice weather today and it looking like we are in for a run of no rain,,,,if the garden drys up it should start to do better,,,I sure would like to see more than 2 tomato's on 9 plants,,,,,,,,

I bet it's about to start here too. Last weekend was way too wet, but we're on a dry spell too now.

We're much the same. This week has not been gardening weather.:(

I'm not complaining about the rain. The plants have been loving it. I've seen more growth this year than ever before. I also have a feeling that summer dryness is going to kick in before long. I'm just great full I haven't had to drag a hose around much so far.

I just finished picking my tomatoes and it has been a pretty good season. Ended up filling my little red wagon and then got my bushel wagon filled half way.

I got a basket full of cucumbers today. Started digging up potatoes from the greenhouse today too but got too hot to get far. Two large tomatoes are turning color still, but not quite ready to pick. I can't wait for a cold cucumber tomato and onion salad with vinaigrette.

Its been so wet this year that my poor peppers have just been struggling so I keep picking while they are still small except for the tobasco, they seem to be loving the weather. I may just have to end up dandy ng them this year instead of the jalapeños. I am down to my last two jars. . . butternut squash and curshaw pumpkins will be the next heavy picking along with the dry beans, purple hulls, brown Crowder, and silver skins. Limas just did OK this year.

Wish I can grow bananas here :(
I've heard you can grow them in a pot/container and move them inside during cold seasons. I'm kind of the mindset to stick with what plants are hardy in your area but if you have a green thumb and lots of time you can do a lot more.

I have a bunch of strawberry plants ,they are doing very well but I have not gotten 1 strawberry off of them,,,,I am very disappointed in that
They do well with lots of water and some fertilizer. I had a lot of strawberries in pots a couple years back. Over winter I put them in the greenhouse to keep them warm and killed/cooked them. They are really cold hardy and didn't need to be protected to death..... I have one small plant left from that bunch, and got two strawberries off it a couple days ago. I guess I need to plant it and let it spread out into more plants. They send out runners that root when they touch the ground and make new plants easily.

Jealous of all y'all's garden successes. Sometimes (most years?) it's kind of a challenge to garden here....land of extremes. 6 weeks ago we got snow, today will be 104. Tomorrow, 108. And wind. Almost all the time LOTS of wind. I've got some stuff up & some doing pretty well but it's gonna be quite a while before I can pick anything.

Okay... I will no longer complain about 90 degrees.... you win....

Of course, I bet ya ain't got the humidity. Yesterday morning the air was thick. Yesterday afternoon, 60+ mph winds, then a storm. Actually blew up something of a dust storm before the rain. Rare for here.

This morning, the air was thick again...

Correct...we ain't got the humidity....usually. Only once in a while does it get bad here. (just out of curiosity, I checked. Next 7 days highest is 34% with lowest at 26%. Not terrible). Dust storms, on the other hand, are completely common here. I can remember many where it got so dark that street lights came on & you couldn't see 50 ft. away. Most are not that bad, but some flat cover up stuff with the dust/dirt that settles after a good blow. Funny, my mother-in-law was a 'hurricane specialist' with the Red cross in Florida. First time she was here and we had some straight line winds (gust front) blow through at around 70 mph, she couldn't believe it. She said "Wow, we put up hurricane warnings for winds like that!".

Oh. Well, yay, I guess. Didn't really want to win that one. :(

Between yestersday and early this morning we planted asparagus, strawberries, tomatoes and hot peppers. Made a couple more raised beds too. I'll look for some more tomato and pepper plants tomorrow while dad's in surgery (he cut his finger off today). The corn is starting to come up and the blueberry plants are loaded with berries.

This is what I came home after work to pick. . .the reason why I have so many green tomatoes is cause we are already feeling the tropical storm in the Gulf. I dont hit the garden till after i get off at 2pm and i am sure it will be raining by then. Expected rainfall is a foot so we'll see. My peppers have finally started drying out and producing half way. Poor things have been struggling just to survive this year. Hoping i dont loose them after this storm blows tbru.

I did the end of my middle finger once on a table saw... I learned to not work 12 hours and screw around with a table saw.
