Sonya, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Buying something and the parts not being right and not fitting is aggravating. I've had it happen multiple times so I feel for you. At least you have a new billy goat. I miss having goats but I know I couldn't manage them now. I've had that "shrotcut" that took longer experience as well. We don't even have farmer's markets around here. Most of the people who have farms no longer grow stuff.

Snappy, I hope your husband's doctor visit went well.

INresponse, I despise power outages. I'm too spoiled by having air conditioning and fans running. I'm glad the ducklings survived. Any pics? Ducklings are adorable.

Ben, please be careful with the credit unions as well. I wouldn't do any banking on a cellphone or use their apps. I think that is how my brother got hacked. He still hasn't gotten all of his $ back yet.

Peanut, I hope the chicken pen building goes well and that you get some relief from the pain. I found some sort of Dr Teal's epsom salt with melatonin that I got for my friend. He said it really helps. One of these days I'll get my tub fixed so I can soak.

Wingnut, I'm glad you got the weeds pulled. New haircuts usually feel good so that's a bonus. Now I'm craving a burrito... Mention of socks reminded me of a trick I learned to not lose them in the wash. I put them in a mesh bag. I actually saw one for bras and thought it would be nice for socks. I can keep them in little compartments in the mesh bag so the pairs stay together. Works great.

Mel, I hope you can find a way to recycle the parts for the old dishwasher. I wonder if you could set the old one up as a dish drying rack. That's all my stupid dishwasher is good for. LOL.

goshengirl, I'm so sorry to hear your son had setbacks and especially that he's in pain. Being in the hospital sucks. I hope he will get feeling better soon. Poor guy has been through a lot.

Rusty, I'm glad the old nurse managed to get it. I hope next time you go they will get it on the first try.

Clem, the new roost sounds great! Have you posted pics anywhere? I love seeing people's projects.

It was technically yesterday, but I went to the post office and got mail. Mom requsted McDonalds. Waited about 15min after ordering for my food but everyone I interacted with was friendly. They messed up my order slightly but they were busy so I didn't care. New hinge for toilet seat came in so I put it on and got my toilet seat installed, got trash/boxes out of the bathroom, cleaned up the floor a little more, and took pictures (which I'll post in another thread).
My tummy is rumbling so I think I need to eat something. Might also be the pizza my brother brought home. It had mushrooms and fire ants (latter were not intentional but they got into the pizza in the car on the way home). Dogs were happy to get pizza crust. I'm about to go grab something to eat.

Headed out to a Flea Market with lots of ammo on board
Wish me luck

My wife has horrible veins. She always request their best sticker and ask them to use a butterfly

I do that also. I warn them I will pass out if they don't get it the first time. I don't go to the doctor very often but last couple of times I did I found some older lady at the doctors that did a really great painless job on the first try. I was impressed.

Goshengirl: hope your son gets better soon that has to be hard to watch.

Amish heart: yes farmers here are busy too. We only go every couple of weeks instead of every week. Maybe part of it is all the driving there and back. The markets are in the city. We are an hour away. Still sad. The way farms work now is sad anyway. Farmers just grow one or 2 things, cows and hay mostly around here, occasionally corn. There is one farmer that comes twice a year with a pickup load full of sweet corn. He usually sells every bit of it. If we had the time to go to all the markets around here and sell we would make a decent amount of money but that's not counting the wear and tear of the vehicle. I am really starting to wish we could just hire a driver like tha Amish!! I bet they come out ahead financially. Transportation is the most expensive thing in the US ( not taxes or housing)

well, neighbor loaded the tiller up on the trailer, it's going back today. Husband suggested he get a different one but I think maybe bad idea. I don't want to spend all that money and keep driving back and force. I will look for a large walk behind rental one somewhere. Maybe the hardware store we rented the mower from has one. It will be more work, but much cheaper. But we still have to do the driving....

Wingnut: I am jealous!! have fun and take photos!

Wow, an hr away just to sell, with gas prices. Ha, you can hire a driver like the amish, even if you're not amish. It costs alot, though. Sweet corn sells well in our parts, too. I could not believe that it went up to 50 cents a piece this year. What happened to the 10 ears for a buck corn?
Our visiting son did the frameout and the roof and two sides with plastic on the greenhouse. He goes home today, so we'll need to do two sides and the door. Its 20 ft by 25 ft, and was built next to my smaller greenhouse I use for seed starting in the spring. Little windy today, so it'll be a small test to see how well the plastic is on. Going to do the animals, taking our son to the amish place for breakfast, then to visit my favorite cousin before he takes off for home.

Slept well, but I'm still recovering from yesterday's ride, lol. About 4.5 hours into it, I was saddle-sore because I hadn't ridden in a while, and some of the riding was on rough trails. Took a lunch break in the pines and stood the whole time, lol. I feel fine today, but I'm gonna take it easy to let all those muscles recover, the ones I hadn't used in months. Gotta do a little watering in a bit, right now I'm sippin' herbal tea and sharing quality time with the kittens! Nice weather outside, I'm lovin' these lower temps as we head into fall!

Well in addition to the hardening of my arteries behind my left knee, the bulging discs with spurs in both my neck and lower back which has been giving me trouble since March, I found out Thursday I have a blockage in another part of my right eye that has killed a pretty good sized area of it and if it busts it'll make my eye fill up with blood. I have to have 2 laser surgeries in it and 6 monthly injections in it and then see if it'll need more. :(

why is it so few actual farmers sell at the farmers market?
We went to one just south of us and no one was selling vegetables. just jellies and crafts. Sad.
Snappy, I hope your husband's doctor visit went well.
Don't even remember which one it was, but he's still here so must have gone well enough! Thanks!
It had mushrooms and fire ants
Now there's a combo! Nicole Kidman would be proud. LOL Wonder if she would have some.

@goshengirl I hope your son is feeling better this morning!
@Wingnut I'm glad you had fun! I just saw a little 1975 Honda 175 (just my size) dirt bike on a facebook group. I could probably hurt myself, but it would be fun!

Walked first this morning and walked dogs.
Handyman came and fixed leaky toilet. Yay!
I made oatmeal for a few breakfasts.
Next I have to pull Jerusalem artichokes, dig sweet potatoes and disassemble small garden area. Not sure how far I will get today.
That's about it. Maybe mess with the Christmas tree in bedroom some more. At least when I bring it out, it will be all ready!

Removed 5th wheel hitch from the truck. Movin stuff around and some into the camper. Gonna dig rest of my taters and pull last of the beans this evening. Not sure ill get much more than that done.
Need to run to TSC and pick up a few things. If we do that we will hit up Dairy Queen. Not very far apart and I could go for some ice cream

squirrelhunter, that is awful! I hope the surgeries will work. Does the clot cause pain or vision problems? (maybe a dumb question bc I'm assuming it does).

Last night because I couldn't get to sleep I started clearing stuff off my vanity so I could get to my sink. I had it cleared enough to use the sink and then went to bed. Got up this morning and cleaned it much more thoroughly. I did pile a lot of stuff in and on my laundry cart (I'm now very glad I got it- despite it having a horrible design for assembly). I did the thing where I moved all the stuff to one side, cleaned the opposite side, cleaned all the stuff and moved it back to the clean side and then cleaned the dirty side & then moved stuff again. I had to vacuum that thing a few times because the leveling mix powder spilled on it. On the upside, the box of unused leveling powder was set in front of the vanity and happened to be on the crease in the vinyl. When I went to move it I discovered it had made the crease disappear. So I moved it on to the remaining part of the crease and will see if it works to flatten it out too.

I need to clear out my tub too, but I think I might want to focus on the kitchen next. Although, I should start moving my stuff over from Mom's bathroom to mine. I don't have much. Deodorant, hairbrush, rx mouthwash, rx toothpaste, etc. Mostly dental supplies. I'll have to get some hand towels in there too.

Just hauled six good loads of "FREE" food up to the cabin using the backpack.

Whoa, a Ramones T-shirt!!! Awesome!!! Great pic with the good ol' boyz!!!
Love me some Ramones! If this don't wake you up in the morning, you're dead!

We stopped at 2 places to look at utility side by sides. The first place said they sell before they arive. Nothing to even look at. Tractor Supply had 2 that looked to already been sold.

We decided we had driven far enough for one day so we went to get something to eat and while on the way I spotted a side by side at motorcycle place I was not familiar was there.

After thinking about it yesterday evening I bought it today. Then went to Harbor Freight to buy a winch and a trailer hitch for it. I will drop those off for them to install the winch on Monday. May get it delivered on Tuesday.

The Princess is calling it an anniversary gift to us for 30 years next month. We can ride to the orchard/garden together and not have to carry stuff on our backs. Getting a bit old to schlep 60 lbs on my back up hill.

We are headed out to get a guitar for the older and a violin for the younger granddaughter tomorrow.

Been busy.

Behave

Ben

Congrats on 30 years:clapping:

If you get ice cream don't fall off your bike!!😃🤪

Been picking away at some junk mom wanted out of her house after work this last week. Made a trip to the dump today to get everything out of the back of my truck.

It's amazing the amount of crap she has accumulated over the 50 years she's been in that house.

They are brothers, I could tell the one on the right that I was in trouble in California and I’d bet he would hop in his old school bus and be at my rescue with a pistol in his hand ready to kick ass. You don’t have many real friends in your life but that one is a real friend!

I usually tell them where the best places to stick me are, unless it's someone that I've had stick me before. I even had one surgery done with the DaVinci robot and told them where the 2 best places to stick me were. Which was good because they ended up needing two ivs going.

Congratulations @Neb ! Thirty years is quite an accomplishment.

@Griz78 i’m envious of you getting stuff out of your mom’s house. Wish I could get my parental unit to clean out some junk from his house.

somehow I got another 30 to 40 pounds of tomatoes. Ground up half of them for a really thick, seasoned sauce to can up tomorrow. The larger ones will be canned up as diced.

Nice restful afternoon, now I'm relaxing at the table... beautiful afternoon or early evening outside, I was just outside with the three kittens. Having all those pine trees in my yard helps filter afternoon sunshine streaming through the windows on the west side of my home, gives the light a nice dappled effect too! Just cracked a cold one, I'd go sit on the porch if it weren't for the bugs, we're still in "bug season" here. Soon they'll be gone as the glorious fall weather sets in for real. No big plans tonight, maybe a movie or a Western novel. A good night's sleep, and tomorrow's another day. Oh, yeah, I'll be making pot brownies tonight, I never did make 'em the other night... gotta get this weed off my kitchen counter, lol. On my ride yesterday, I gave away a bunch of buds to folks I met on the trail, no way I'm ever gonna smoke that much, aye?

I'm gonna be doing a garden next spring I miss having fresh veggies.

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that she asked me to haul stuff off. I mean it's gonna have to happen eventually. But damn. It was like a five thousand pound load. And I maybe have a third of it. Empty my powerstroke is like 8500 and was way over my gvwr going across the scales at the dump. I should of waited till I got the injectors finished on my 4500. Or told her to wait till I got the wiper seals replaced on my dump trailer.
