Home from work. Only 2 more night shifts left, Monday and Tuesday, and I have 4 hours of personal time to use so both those nights will be 6 hours shifts. Things are looking kinda grim for the freight team as others are transferring or leaving as well. Not my problem. Came home and reheated some kabobs and rice, yummy. I hope to wake up at a decent hour tomorrow/today and paint my workbench in the garage. A few coats of oil base Rustoleum to make it pretty and endurable.

Aside from that, maybe a few adult beverages and set up the drip irrigation system around the yard.

Cleaning my building today instead of tomorrow. Looks pretty wet tomorrow, so I will get to be home! I have to run by Walmart when I am done, not the place I want to be on a Saturday. Hoping for a limited number of "special" people in Walmart!!🤞🙄 Have some yard work to do later. Leaving the inside jobs for tomorrow!

Just back from the city and my lecturers book launch- had a truly lovely time meeting some people I've spoken to online over the last three years, but never met in person. Wandered around some of my fav book shops - deliberately didn't bring the credit card! And visited the Hugh Lane Gallery, an art gallery with stained glasswork from one of my favourite artists. I'll put up pictures during the week. Spent the morning watering - my poor seedlings got a little fried, and catching up on chores. Been invited to a party tonight - why are my friends getting older?:D and have to prepare for a AGM next week- I'm leaving my final voluntary position. I've volunteered for years and now will limit myself to just knitting for the Christmas boxes that get sent to orphanages etc - no more meetings :)

After finishing up with the animals, I decided to run some errands and pick up some flour and rice. On our way back, we stumbled upon a charming flea market and couldn't resist purchasing some delightful tomato plants. We spent a couple of hours planting them, but it was worth it since we had already cleared the area beforehand. Now, I'm ready to unwind on the porch with some delicious homemade iced tea.

Watered trees & plants early this morning, knocked out chores, searched the 'hood for my missing cat, and went to town to resupply... gonna take a little break, then put up some framed pics in the other bathroom. Project was interrupted when my cat went MIA. Lots of leftover BBQ in the fridge, and plenty o' beer... I'm really hoping Z-Girl makes it back home, I don't like this prolonged absence. :(

So, I did some cleaning in the kitchen but got dizzy. Probably bc I was stressed out before I started the cleaning. I mentioned in rant for the day that my can opener, toaster, and air fryer all broke & had me agitated & Mom yelled at me (first for not reading her mind that she wanted me to make her toast- and then because I was unable to make her toast bc the appliances broke). I offered to cook it in a frying pan but she called me something that rhymes with a witch and put the bread away.

Curbside order went ok. Couldn't find what I wanted to get for my friend's daughter's birthday so I ordered it online. She should be happy even if its late.

I hit myself in the head with the door on my way out. No idea how, but I did it. Currently resting with a cat up by my ear so the purring can lower my bp.

Life is fickle as hell
Went to a outdoor event

Did not make fiddle squat. Total waste of time. On the way home at 1pm I told the wifey we would stop off at Wally World parking lot and see what we see
An hour we are $250
To fhe good and hoping for $500 by the end of the day

Does Wally World care? I dunno, never asked them 😂

Looks like some great stuff, good thing I didn't go to Wallyworld.

That’s the universe telling you “girl, go back to bed.” I’ve got an elder similar to that.

Visited mom today and brought a strawberry shake for her, and the difference was amazing after being off the dementia drugs, even since Monday! She ate, could hold a conversation, and was in a decent mood. We were shocked! Her old nurse from when she was in assisted living came by to visit, and she is wonderful...was great to see her. She saw mom a few weeks ago and couldn't believe the difference.

so glad you got her off those meds. Polypharmacy (too many drugs) in old folks causes so much more harm than good. Hope that you continue to see improvement with your mom AH.

Thanks, I think half the time that's what I do is run interference with her drugs. And the nurses can be so sassy until I fired back at them. I can keep a perfectly straight face when one of them "tries" to convince me that things are for her own good and to keep her anxiety down. She normally is not anxious. So, so far I've nixed the dementia meds, the biopolar meds, the sleeping pills, and the antidepressants. And I make them all remember that I've got her medical power of attorney. She's not dead yet.

Drives me nuts how everyone these days is diagnosed with "bipolar", perfectly normal people who may have a rough night here or there are all of a sudden "manic".
I've kept my parents off all the drugs except the ones to treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol (my dad who is 87). My mom is on a daily vitamin (she's 75). They don't need more than that.

Busy, crazy week at work. DOE is throwing down rulings due to a subcractor having an injury. Requiring multiple people to be on site for any higher risk job. We don't have the manpower to cover all this. It's gonna shut down work before the month is over. PITA
Worked in my grapevines all day. Got some of them done up, do more tomorrow. It was hot today, but not terribly humid. Tomorrow is about the same

Been canning Sweet Corn that I had in chest freezer from last year.
We had trouble getting canning supplies or something like that.
Anyway I have 1 flat of 12 pints of sweet corn.
Ahh the sound of pinging as the jars cool and flats seal.
Also got 5 pints of corn relish.
Went to the local farm store and picked a box of number # 2 tomatoes.
I see Salsa in my future tomorrow.
Resting now, kinda of tired.
Kitchen is cleaned up for tomorrow.

I've got two concord grapes to get in the ground, haven't done it yet. Add to that...4 asparagus large plants that I got from a neighbor today. And she had sweet potato slips...wasn't going to bother with those this year, since I planted a large potato patch already, but what the heck. I did them last year and they were tasty. At least the ones the vole didn't eat.

NO ONE deserves to be drugged and forgotten!! I feel for the ones who don't have family watching over them !!

Made a lot of progress on the chicken run today. Been taking me longer than expected because I'm making mulitple design changes based on materials that I have on hand. I've bought some but I'm trying to use as much repurposed or scraps as I can to cut down on cost and overall waste. I'm hoping to be finished with it in the next few days. Then the next project will be making new waters and feeders for them as they're quickly outgrowing the ones I have.

Today was really rough emotionally because it is exactly 1 month since I lost my SO. I did end up meeting a friend in town this evening for dinner and drinks though, so that was a bit of a distraction.

Edit: changed their to they're 🤦‍♀️
