I get mylar emergency blankets for about 70 cents each, so I gave them to all the firefighters, police and deputies for the last two years and did it again this year today. The police chief told me last year one saved someone's life. That makes it all worth it. I also give them to people in wheelchairs and using a cane or crutches.

How interesting. What a great price! I think for many people they are a great gift, even a stocking stuffer.
There are the really thin mylar blankets and tents, and then there is another one that is thicker. The thicker ones are preferable to me, but of course more expensive and heavier. I do have the thinner ones as well. I can just imagine how easy it would be for the thin ones to tear. I think of putting one of the thicker ones down as a moisture barrier on the ground or even covering up with it. I think of it similar to adding another blanket on my bed in the winter.

Celebrated my Irishman's birthday yesterday.
It was a little bit chilly for a outside picnic.
So we had a inside picnic complete with wine and Charcuterie board.

Just took one feeling bad. Sore throat,mild fever, and exhausted. Wife is trying to get me to take one of her concoctions garlic, honey and oregano. I know it will give me heart burn.

Took Bear and the three outside cats on a woods walk before the last of the rain comes through! Bear had a bath, I'm going to take a shower and put some dry clothes on! Then I'll do a little prep work in the kitchen for tacos tonight!!

Ugh. All this rain and guineas are wet, so not flying. Pup went out with little granddaughter for chores and killed one. I am so irritated with him. We've been working really hard on that, and thought he was doing well.

Just chopped up carrots, celery, onion, garlic, and mushrooms. Will save me headaches tomorrow.

I'm making this to my own specs, so it will either be amazing or it will suck !!!!

An exhausting week finally over but today was the worst. Took Dad for his PET scan this morning. He said it was torture—the injection of the isotopes, being in that tube for 35 minutes not being able move. I reminded him while he was taking it easy in the tube, I was trapped in the waiting and the tv was on tuned into The View. Who was tortured more? He conceded it was me.

Went to work afterwards and was surprisingly busy with vaccines. It was a very sad day at work. My favorite tech, the only one I don’t have to tell what to do and knows how to do everything I do had her last day today. She had a part time job with the county medical examiner and it went full time. Good for her, bad for me. She started right at the onset of COVID and is the hardest working young person I know.

Got home and have an email from the radiology center that Dad’s scan results are available on their portal. Debating if I should look at them or wait for the doctor. Any advice?

They're pretty tough. It's not a bad idea to have a few of them with you and some duct tape too. You can also cut out two pieces from a blanket and use them in your shoes.

I would look, but that's me. Sorry you're missing a good employee. I watched The View (a little bit of it) that was dated Wednesday on Hulu streaming. Had never seen it before. The ladies all agreed that the election took them by surprise and that they did not realize that that many people believed the way they did, and since majority ruled, they would hope for unification in the US. Then the Sunny lady spoke, and she was pretty vile. She is worried that she and others like her would be put in a camp. And that seniors will suffer. What a whacko.

Got up early again and was cleaning more. I was in the front room spraying febreeze when the guys came in. I offered them masks, cold water, etc and they declined. I showed them where the inside unit was, outside unit, and I flipped the breakers. I learned a 3rd breaker was involved for the air handler. Had to do process of elimination. 3rd breaker I flipped was the right one. I've now marked it on the label thing for the breaker box. AH= air handler.

It was 88 degrees inside when they finally got it back on. They installed a surge protector, air purifier, some kind of overflow protection shutoff thingy on the condensate line, and they used the padded foil insulation tape where the handler frame attached to the duct-- previous installers used black duck tape. They even surprised me with 2 brand new grilles. I had already said we will be putting the 2nd one in ourselves to save money and save them some time. Also saved them from having to go into the trash heap that is my brother's room to take the old one out and seal up the wall there.

It took a few hours but finally got down to 70. Cats got hyper when it cooled off. Rupert chased me all over the house everywhere I went. Ran into the living room and hopped up on the couch when I was trying to sit down. When the AC people first got there he was sleeping in a litterbox.

AC guys got to use my BigBlue leak detector (apparently he thought they had brought it in until I commented about I was glad I bought it-- same kind they use). I told him that I bought it on recommendation of HVAC people but it didn't arrive until the refrigerant had leaked out.

I even got a free dolly with big wheels! JK. They forgot it. I called to tell them so they can come pick it up. I put it on the porch to keep it out of the rain and protect it from cows.

I took a much-needed nap without sweating my butt off for the first time in a week.

Fippy seems happier. He got so overheated he started tearing his fur out in chunks. I'll definitely have to give him another bath with some medicated dog shampoo.

I'm currently relaxing and getting to wear my new hooded sweater and have cats on my lap without feeling overheated.

Slowly recovering from an unfortunate front into rear end accident on way to work Thursday arvo which wrote off my fourbie's front end resulting in being towed scary as moment especially when the air bags went off now I'm nursing a bruised sternum was tested at roadside but returned a negative reading got taken to hospital privately and had bloods taken as part of standard hospital procedure now waiting on negative result to come back from that

Thankfully I took out comprehensive premium insurance and carried it over from my old station wagon so towing was covered in addition to any repairs needed on the other vehicle along with replacement vehicle for myself but that will come after assessment is done and required paperwork on my end is submitted

Still quite upset it happened though

Will do so some outside cleanup today. Have to run to the dollar store to get some freezer/microwave containers for meals. I had bought a tray of vodka penne/chicken for Sam's last day so we could all eat together as a pharmaly. She didn't want the leftovers so I took them but need to freeze some of it for future meals.

@Pearl and @Amish Heart I took a look at the results. Didn't matter--I don't understand them.

Our next door neighbor has a german shepherd...sweet dog. Does not listen. Eats another neighbor's chickens. Nope.
Pup was cautious with us all night. All of us were mad at him, and he knew it.
