We did the Saturday night out as planned. Good because the dishwasher repair part didn't get delivered until late Sunday night.

The sweet sixteen for the eldest granddaughter. My sister and The Princess went a long way decorating in a goth theme. Everyone dressed in black or purple. The granddaughter did herself up with goth make-up etc. In her Frankenstein shoes she was taller than me. She was happy so call it a success.

Today I installed the replacement part for the dishwasher. Not being a DW repairman I didn't install the part correctly. The Princess had trouble closing and starting it so I sprang into action sweating as I went. Eventually figured it out. All is well if the DW completes a cycle and washes dishes.

I also spotted a 50% of deal on tool holders for my lathe. I ordered 10 and they fit my tool post fine. One can never have too many tool holders.

Just got home with a load of lumber. The only thing I couldn't find was a 12 foot long 6×6. The employee said they could order one in. No thanks, I'll get it somewhere else. The roads were snow packed and icy for the first 20 miles then just an occasional icy spot. Coming home the road was really icy and slick. Good thing for 4 wheel drive.

Rainy out all day, stayed inside and worked on my projects. Made good progress, buttoned up and cleaned up the stairway/storage areas. It’s finished until my ordered light arrives. I pulled new cable for the washer outlet in the laundry, got the new box installed in the wall. Found a mystery power cable in the ceiling that crosses above the laundry rm. Think it might have fed 220v to a window a/c unit my folks had decades ago, a puzzle for tomorrow. Anyway, looks to be 70ft of 12/2 wire I can use elsewhere.

No plans tonight but a ballgame on tv.

I've been on the phone quite a bit this morning. I've been trying to find an old 401k account that I had lost track of. Apparently when I moved in 2016 the address never got updated and my email never got attached to it. I had a lot going on in life and I honestly just forgot about it. It didn't have much in it anyway. The account had been transferred to a different plan provider since then. I finally got it tracked down, but I can't access it because the company has the wrong birth date on file. It's likely a clerical error from when the account got transferred from Securian to The Standard. Now I have to jump through some hoops to get all that corrected. I already had to try and remember every mailing address I've had since 2002 for them and luckily I did that. Once everything is made right, I can hopefully roll it over from a 401k to a Roth. If not, I'll just start making contributions to it and see how it's been doing. I do remember that when the .com bubble burst back in 2001 it was down to about $600! But now it should hopefully have gained. Since it still exists, there has to be something in it, right?
If it’s in a 401k, it will have to go into a traditional IRA or you will have to pay taxes on it. My opinion: I would not leave it in a 401k because then the company has control over it. If you roll it over, you have control over it. Might chat with an FA.

Today was beautiful, cold and sunny. We haven’t seen the sun for ages. I got tons done. A lot of paperwork and computer stuff. Picked up a bunch of trash. Since the fire, the trusty k9 companion finds things that must be fun (read gross) to chew on and leaves stuff all over. Can’t wait until the mess is gone.
I think I’ve about finished Christmas shopping. Got some wrapping started. Cards are ready to go in the mail. Dishes were done until Hubby returned home with his lunch bucket.

Had news from my sister she will have a knee replacement surgery
She works too much outside! I love my sister!
Too bad we live far apart from each other ...at least we talk on phone and e.mail

Hope I will be able to sleep well this time 🙏

Sleep well guys !!!
I will stay up ... until my face melt 🫠

Won the cats a new cat tree on eBay, put it together despite the fact I had to go by the website picture because there were NO directions!! Actually went well, they love it!! Outside cats got the old one, they love it!! My thumb arthritis and sciatica are HORRIBLE today!! Not good as far as my work, not sure how to handle it!! 🤔🙁 Gotta do more homework.....

Washing machine got fixed. Been running loads ever since, and have one in right now. Husband and I did the start of our gift ordering online, and made a dent in it. Did some housecleaning, more decorating. Made some homemade dk chocolate pudding for husband, per request. Watched a Medea Christmas and had some roast beef burritos.

Wow @snappy1 I hope you get a healthy hubby as your Christmas present 💝
@Tommyice when is Dad’s procedure?
@Peanut Will Mom be home before Christmas? She doing better?
@Mountain trapper Glad you made it home safely.

I would think before christmas... don't know. Immediate health concerns are improved, big picture, not so much. Wait and see mode...

Quite a day. Got our septic tank pumped and the guys said it looked like it was flaking apart on the top inside surface....another thing to dread doing and spending bunches of money on..
Then as I was getting the wheel barrow to haul some garden sand to spread on our lingering ice from the last snow I walked by a T post I had used to stabilize a fabric garage....the garage is gone but the post refused to come out. So I wiggled it back and forth and front to back to see if it was loose at all and it snapped clean off right at ground level just as I was pulling on it. Popped me right on the front top of my head and really surprised me..... then the blood started running down my face...
Staunched the flow with my cotton gloves and off we went to the urgent care.
They gave me the option of getting a MRI since I am over 65 years old? I guess the brain shrinks with age and makes for a harder impact as it sloshes around.
I declined the MRI so a quick scrub and then three staples....those suckers hurt the most of the whole ordeal..Next time we might have to try tying the hair across the wound and putting some super glue on the hair....

I hope you get a healthy hubby as your Christmas present 💝
Me too! Thank you!
Regular work day
I hope you don't have too much pain today, at work!

70 degrees here today, before hitting 39 tonight. And rainy, oh well.
Will do a walking video first.
Wash rugs and dog blankets.
Take ebay photos that didn't get done yesterday.

Today I schedule his CT Scan on the jaw and neck. We meet the surgeon again on Dec 20. That's when we find out if its a two hour surgery taking just a small piece of the jawbone with a metal replacement or a four hour surgery that requires more of the jawbone being removed and replaced with some of his leg. The surgeon said the surgery would happen after Christmas. Unfortunately he's experiencing pain in the evening and mornings. During the day, he said it's tolerable, but it's being managed.

Thank you for thinking of us :huggs:

shopping today, have to go to various places and stop by the library to pick up newspapers ( firestarter)
Son is coming along since husband's knee hurts from all the work last week
It's raining outside and we left the sheep out. But it's not that cold. They are sitting outside in the pasture, not in their shelter. I think they only go in there if it is really pouring
I will look for a cheap Yule tree, but I think last year I got my $5 one just a few days before Christmas. So probably too early for tree sales
Have to get propanes refilled also , used a lot for baking and space heaters in the last few weeks and have 4 empty ones
but first animal care
the good thing is the sheep area of the barn is already cleaned and ready to go since they stayed out. We are supposed to get a lot of rain and some snow tonight, so they will go in later in the day

Back home after a tiring 3.5-4 hour drive from Ballarat back to Kalangadoo enjoyed the weekend away staying at a nice but not overly fancy holiday park that is only a 10 minute drive to Ballarat wildlife park and about 8 minute walk to Sovereign Hill spent an half hour Saturday arvo at a popular video arcade called time-zone racked up enough tickets to buy some nice novelty keychains before heading back and ordering pizza for dinner then unwound by playing skill tester games in the game room
The name Ballarat is familiar and then I remembered its the setting for The Doctor Blake Mysteries. I used to be able to make really long drives but now I struggle to stay awake on 4-hr drives. Glad you made it safely.

Yesterday I got up even earlier and headed out to help my friend. Would have gone even earlier but my brother wanted to nap a bit more. More demo on the workshop addons at the place friend is buying so it can pass inspection. Brother insisted on using the big sledgehammer and didn't heed warnings about being careful of the wall that was supposed to stay and he put a big hole in it. He spent a lot of the time walking around talking to himself and not actually doing anything.

I peeled the fiberglass shingles off of the rotted plywood. Shingles will be disposed elsewhere but old rotted wood is getting burned. Had my Gorilla Cart to haul stuff. I also collected up the plywood clips that were still in tact in case they can be used at some point in the future. I made a few trips hauling stuff to the burn pile as well as taking apart the rotted lower cabinets- I preserved some of the doors and hinges bc friend wanted to use them later. I also managed to get a wall panel off by myself, which wasn't easy bc that sucker was on there and they used a ton of nails. They used crappy wood but they must have worked at a place that sold nails and got some free or something. Soo many nails.

Someone related to the tenants who'd been living in the house came by for friend to replace her car's radiator (he offered to do it for free when he found out a deer jumped out in front of her & busted the headlamp and radiator). Gave her a family cookbook and the photos that had been left inside the workshop. The lady was very grateful.

After that friend resumed demo until a co-worker and her husband showed up. The co-worker was my brother's supervisor when he worked at the casino arcade. She showed up in flip flops and her husband teased her about it quite a bit. They were a cute couple. That woman is strong. She's probably over 10yrs younger than me. At one point she took the flipflops off and was doing demo barefoot. She literally punched the aluminium panels off the roof rafters when we pulled it down.

Friend stopped again to replace bulbs in co-worker's husband's car while the co-worker and her husband were doing demo in exchange. Brother actually started doing more and putting in more effort to show off. Before they showed up he'd been putzing and whining. Hooked a chain to some parts and I pulled things loose with my truck.

Friend's Mom tricked my friend into giving her the address claiming she was going to bring a tarp. She showed up with the 4-yr-old and no tarp. She was annoyed that there wasn't anything for her to take. Friend was annoyed that she just dumped the kid bc now it wasn't safe to demo anymore bc someone had to watch the kid to keep him out of trouble or from getting hurt. So we wrapped up and ordered pizza.

Friend went home and showered while we waited on the pizza. There was some drama with my brother. Got home and I set things up so my brother could shower, ate my pizza, cooked for Mom, and then racked out. Woke up with acid reflux. Need to shower but don't feel like getting up yet.

So, I'm still in bed resting with kitties piled on.

Got home from work and the grocery store, got things put away and got a fire started, it's cold out (43°), windy and gloomy! Got some inside things to do. Will bring more firewood inside when I go out to feed Buddy. Need to take Bear for a walk before dark, but other than that, I'm staying inside! Not planning on much this evening other than cooking dinner and eating!!

Got up, worked out, cleaned up, went to work, was sidelined again by some unhappy state law enforcement officials, watched my handler tell them to kiss her backside in a very polite & articulate way, hung out in an empty office for a bit, then ran some errands for her before being released, ran some errands for my other lady boss, tried to do some shopping but everyplace I went was packed with people, picked up some lunch to surprise the lady with only to be rejected, had lunch with her super tall and overly bubbly receptionist who was lunch-less, came home, parked next to Challenger guy and someone else with a Charger, felt my testosterone increase by 4.18%, went inside, collected the mail, talked to some staff about the upcoming staff-only holiday party I was invited too, went to the apartment, started working on dinner, got into a humorous text battle with the lady about me having a lunch date with her employee, popped the top off a beer and here I am.

Today = doing as little as possible.

For my birthday/ Thanksgiving we went to the home of our son and his wife and son in Kansas. We found out we will have a new grand daughter in May!

We just spent a long weekend in Rochester, NY visiting our daughter and husband. We ate at a wonderful restaurant there that we will definitely want to return to. Our kids are interesting and fun.

Traveling is very hard for me. The Charlotte, NC airport nearly did me in. We had a very long walk to our gate and then, just before boarding, our gate changed from Gate E17 to E 45..... a longer walk than it looks on paper. But I survived and I am here.
