I found a almost brand new petal exercise bike for 5 bucks at the thrift store in town yesterday..
It's all super fancy digital ..it had a tiny swipe of dirt on the base..that's it. Not even any dirt on the petals...
5 bucks!
And it folds up like you see..
WOW, that's awesome!!

So yesterday was fantastic..

Had a nice walk with the pups dispite the frozen land..it is a beautiful sight at least..

Went to the craft fare..walked out with some wonderful sourdough bread . Bout a loaf for my friends and ran into a few folks I haven't seen in awhile..so that was nice.

Ran a few errands n jammed home..

I got stovie fired up then got a ton of stuff done!
Laundry, organizing, cleaning, dishes, firewood, plus I got my laptop on again..and started dealing with all the bull one has to do when my info was stolen from the big AT&T hack back in Feb.
Now ..nothing has popped up that I can see. I did elect to take advantage of the settlement offered to have my info n all that monitored for free for a year.
I dug more into that as well. I also was happy to learn other stuff I can do because I'm ID verified with the state , I can use that to be securely ID verified with the social security admin and get all my statements online too. I've been wanting to check all that anyways since after I moved here my last yearly statement advised me it was all going online and I put it off. Too young to get it anyways so I didn't worry about it. But now that my number was stolen, I can lock all that stuff down and anyone who tries to use it will find it's too much trouble hopefully..

I was pleasantly surprised to see I've earned enough points or credits, whatever they call it, to retire at 62 earliest.
Hopefully it will be there..I m worried it won't be but not much I can do about that..plan for the worst like I always do.

Anyways,

This am I still had warm coals in stovie so I got a nice fire up easy..
Got more laundry n dishes done.
Got more leftovers warmed up for the birds and I plan on having a relaxing day piddling about doing stuff mostly by stovie..

I overslept my internal alarm clock by over an hour and 20 minutes, alcohol may have been was a factor. I showered up and got dressed before making my way to the Keurig for some Aleve pushed down with some pod-produced easy caffeine. The lady is taking over my brunch duties today and will be making some buttermilk pancakes, thick cut bacon, and a fresh berry salad. I am told her from-scratch buttermilk pancakes are like thick sweet crepes that make all other pancakes pale in comparison. We shall see. Until then I am all about Caribou Blend medium roast k-cups, the internet and music played at a reasonably low volume.

Hubby and I went skiing ⛷️ today 😍. New skis and poles work great. Last year I only skied a day and a half when I messed up my MCL so I was curious how I’d do. My knee was great. There’s barely enough snow for them to open so I was super cautious about rocks and trees. Other than being a little rusty, it was great. Hubby tweaked his back accidentally hitting a dip so we made it a short day. Came home and made elk steaks and garlic fried kale with feta for dinner 🤤.
Tomorrow morning I have to make yet more cookies (different than last week) for the neighbors’ cookie party. Then church, then party.
I was never a very active skier. It is too expensive and has gotten much, much more so. Used to be $25 to $35 for a day, depending on the resort. And because I was so busy with teaching activities, I didn't get enough exercise to have good strength. I went skiing one time and when I got off the lift, I promptly fell down, and what a struggle to get up and get going. I knew that my days of skiing, or trying to were over. I didn't want to get seriously hurt, as in a broken bone or other physio way. And, Denver Public Schools had a big thing about teachers and skiing. I don't remember all of it, but what could make you lose your job or get your written up would be taking a day off of work to go skiing. I never did that, but I did know two women who decided that they would. They were written up and one of them promptly turned in her notice of not returning the next year. All of it was just not worth it to me.

coffee, prolly do some more logging.since the crappy weather seems to have stayed south of the imaginary line (avoiding retro tarifs)

We got up early and headed into town, Jake has to pull a float for the FFA in the Branson Christmas parade tonight with his truck and I wanted to sharpen the kids trailer pulling skills a little. We cleaned up his old 3/4 ton and got him ready for this evening.

LOL, that definitely would not solve any problems with our utilities...we dont have a regular setup for laundry. But it's not frozen, doing laundry now. We put the entire thing under the house when its freezing and take it out to do laundry. The crawlspace is warmer than outside and husband turns the valve off to that line and empties the hoses. Sometimes the valve and hose still freeze if water remains in them

It was a great surprise..especially since I just started looking for one since last week..
That's a synchronicity from higher up I believe..I'm grateful...

You reminded me of something funny…. Beware exercise equipment!!! Decades ago I was home for christmas. That year dad got mom a treadmill machine she wanted. I laughed as soon as I saw it… my mom is notoriously clumsy. I told her ‘be careful or you'll end up like george jetson walking his dog astro’. A few months later I called home, asked mom about her treadmill. She goes on a rant… told me… ‘my housecoat got hung and I fell down. The machine skinned up my knees, ruined my housecoat’. Then she got mad cause I was laughing!!!! I knew it was going to happen as soon as I saw that thing! 🤣

I'm going to be slicing and brining salmon and goat meat for jerky today. I'm not sure how I'll merge the smoker with the Christmas light controller outside but I'll figure it out. I'm also going to hit up the place where the city drops off logs for the community to cut and use for firewood. I'll be gathering some shavings for the chicken nest boxes. I made a mistake when I cleaned the layer coop yesterday, thought I had more shavings but it turns out I must have used them all.

Be careful with that Caribou blend. All we can see of him is his back half. 😂

Hubby was “born on skies.” It’s the one thing we both enjoy and is good for us from a fitness perspective. We will probably ski for as long as our bodies let us. Over 70 ski for free. Yes it has gotten pretty expensive. We went back to our “old” mountain this year. We like it better and season passes were half the cost of the mountain that is 20 minutes closer. Oh and I’ve never skipped work to go skiing.

I got pretty chilled yesterday from working outside all day. Didn't get to sleep until 4.30 this morning and up at 6.
Since I found out that today is Sunday I don't need to go anywhere. I'm going down to the pump house soon and connect an inverter to the battery. Then I'll put up a couple LED light bars so that I'll have lights. Right now if I want lights I have to start the generator. Probably need to change oil in the generator too. Then I might sweep the snow off the new roof at the coop and see if I can finish it.

My funny for the day: Nothing better than having a dream, and realizing it is a dream, while you are in it. :)
I had a tiny 4" long flathead 4-cylinder gas engine that would actually start and run, that I was showing off to friends.
They were amazed!
I said: "Unfortunately, it isn't real, because they don't make these":(.
I added: "Oh, by the way, neither are you, because this is dream".
They looked horrified, tried to take it away, and haul me off to the looney-house.🤣

You are so lucky! If I had ever lived anywhere near skiing as an adult other than now I would have most certainly skipped work to go skiing LOL. Probably more than once. Actually I would have probably tried to get a job as a ski patrol or something. I remember laughing when I saw the ski patrol carefully trying to ski plow down a trail in North Carolina, thinking what? Why is this guy a ski patrol??? He can't even ski....
This was Cataloochee, a very small ski area we went up to on the January holiday since it was closest to Florida

ok...I would like this translated into regular English LOL

Keurig = Single serve coffee maker that uses pods or cups.

Aleve = Delicious blue nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory.

Pushed = The act of forcing Aleve down my food intake hole.

Easy = Of limited effort or energy. See also my mother.

Caffeine = Brown beverage produced by aforementioned Keurig.

LOL sometimes I really don't understand what you are saying .....

I don't speak English, they lost the war so I only speak American!

USA! USA! USA!

Doing laundry ... doing dishes ... sharpening kitchen knives ... feeding Squeaky the pet pigeon ... giving pup treats ... installing AA batteries in candles wife puts in all our windows for Christmas ... chopped up all kinds of veggies for a salad tonight ... soon will be vacuuming ...

Wife walks each pup separately ... the one who stays behind cries like a freaking baby the whole time the other pup is out ... so mournful ... never heard pups cry like these two do!!! And this is every day ... you'd think they'd be used to it by now!!!!!
