Half day of work this morning, and half of that was rearranging stored "stuff" in the upstairs storage area. Thankfully it has been a rather slow winter for us work wise, I am enjoying my time off.
I was getting ready to leave and noticed a text to the boss that a customer was on his way to pick up his 4 wheeler so I sat down and looked at my phone, our community "Nextdoor" page had a listing for free stuff sitting at the end of a driveway. I grabbed the food storage stuff. I scored (LDS food storage qty 6 #10 cans) a case of long grain white rice, a case of Black Beans, a case of Pinto Beans, and a case of Dehydrated Carrots. Plus, an unopened case of military MRE's (case A), one of those tall square plastic survival food buckets, and 2 packs of powdered milk.
Aside from the rice most is not something we would normally eat but it will all get added to my existing stash, which contains mostly similar LDS food storage stuff and my self packaged white rice. But if the time comes where we are hungry I am certain it will be delicious. And I definitely can't beat the price.
If I finish my couple hour mid day break I suppose I will start organizing my tax paperwork. Ugh.
