I have a nice long honey-do list to work on, which includes some chores and a trip to some stores and the bank. Also need to wash and get the oil changed on the Honda (SUV we provide for the Nanny). Will probably drag along a kid or two and perhaps stop at the park for some playtime so I don't have to do too much of that honey-do list. ;) I am also making dinner tonight so I have to be cleaned up and cooking at some point.

If it persists you might want to have yourself checked for Meniere's syndrome. My dad fought it for 15 years before finding a doctor in Memphis that could help him.

Meniere’s is an inner ear nerve disorder that usually affects only one ear. It's random, "spells" usually last only 3 or 4 days then you might be fine for a month or two, but it will come back.

The only thing my dad could do during a "spell" was hug the floor!
My mom actually has Meniere's, and she's bedridden when it comes on.

This isn't like that. It's very brief spells of varying intensity.

My Grandmother had that.

The Drs thought my oldest had it for a short time, they said it could be hereditary.

Been rearranging furniture where the desktop is residing.
Moved the monitor from top of very tall roll top desk to the old fashion typewriter table that now is home for monitor and printer.
Strawberry is slightly miffed, okay more than slightly miffed.
I moved her chair a whole 3 inches so I could put up the sides of the typewriter table.
Now she can see out the window better, but no she is sitting in my recliner with her back to me.
She's been that way for about 10 minutes now.
She's going to be down right miffed when I remove her bone from underneath my pillows again.
Just doing various chores around the house.
Dishes, putting laundry away.
Rearranging some more kitchen cabinets.
Thinking of getting rid of roll top desk, it takes up a lot of real estate in my much smaller living room.
And getting smaller L- shaped desk for desktop, printer, sewing machine, serger.
Every piece of furniture has to do double duty now.
By getting rid of roll top and typewriter stand that will free up quite of bit of space.
But can't do anything till I get the money saved.
Decisions, decisions.
I think instead of going on quilt shop hop in October, I will take that money and buy myself new laptop.
Hence elimating one thing I'm saving for, will still think on roll top desk though.

Terri,
A princess should never run. Use the carriage and let the horses run. ;)

Find a quiet space where you can meditate. Paint one wall white and in the middle of that wall paint a pink dot about two inches in diameter.
Take a seat at the opposite wall facing the dot. Meditate on the relationship between the wall and the dot.
Will the wall remain if the dot is removed? Will the dot remain if the wall is removed?
This shows that the wall will remain without the dot, though it will be incomplete but without the wall the dot has no support and cannot exist without the wall.
The person meditating has to decide if they are the dot or the wall. It helps to consider if the rest of the world is the dot or the wall. ;)

How does that get someone else to do my laundry? Just sounds like more work by having to paint the wall!

Spoken as a true princess! :)

There is a wild fire not far from here. The last I heard over fifty homes were destroyed. I went down to the rescue centre with 5 or 6 suitcases and a 10'X10' tent. The Red Cross refused the donation but the victims there took it all. We learned years ago that lots of people give clothing but these people wind up putting their clothes in trash bags. We have been saving our old luggage for years waiting for today.

Survived part one of Yoder Days. Pancake breakfast, parade, quilt auction. Bought 1 quilt top and 1 quilt at auction. Gorgeous. Came back home for a rest. Nephew and wife just went to buy a baby pig. I found an old kennel in our garage to put it in. They'll bring it back to Oklahoma. Mom is sleeping in the recliner. We'll go back to the festivities in a couple of hours and have supper, watch fireworks, listen to live gospel music. Am holding the pig.

Finished the short north wall. A 18" X 42" foot bridge will go across here.

Front yard on this side of the main driveway drains down this ditch. I'll put in a 6" or 8" storm pipe, cover the pipe leaving a gentle swale so the middle yard can still drain. And then it's mowable.

Now what can I do with the last two leftover blocks....

View attachment 22990

Laid 6" Storm pipe and tied in the 4" pipe from a front gutter down spout. 8 tons of shredded top soil delvered Friday afternoon. This evening finished back filling. Monday I'll level a bit, seed with grass and water. Then build the foot bridge.

Good for you. I hate the Red Cross. They are so screwed up and corrupt you would think the Clinton Foundation ran 'em.

@Caribou so good of you. I have 2 nieces who just returned from "north" fighting fire. You are absolutely right - Red Cross doesn't allow other organizations to assist. It's all controlled by the government.
@The Lazy L Your yard is looking entirely to nice. Really, you should come work in mine until it looks half as nice :).

Just got back from taking my daughter to visit my parents. My fitness plan is totally shot for this weekend, as we went out for beer-battered walleye fillets Friday night, all you could eat for $11. I got my money's worth! Then we had Grandma's home made chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes for lunch today, and old school style, drive-up burger joint burgers tonight. I feel like a sloth, but it was totally worth it...:D

Wife has Broncitus and not feeling worth a crap. Got her fixed up, then went out and mowed 3 acres. picked okra, tomatos, butternut squash, onions. Took down my cuke cattle panels and post, put that away and mowed it all down. Got everything done today i wanted to. Came in the house planning to fix supper. Wife had got up and made some refried beans with left overs from Wed. Just been watchin a baseball game and reading thru the forum with a nice glass of brandy. Been a wonderful day.

Rocked the baby pig to sleep. Mom kept waking up in the recliner next to me, asking me every ten minutes or so what I was rocking. Feeling sorry for my nephew and his wife when they realize this little pig isn't going to stay little for long, and will not be a house pig.
Went to Yoder Days evening festivities, had a burger and cheese fries, listened to the music of Aaron Stutzman (gospel blue grass), fireworks at dark. Had to say goodbye to cousins and mom. Drove back in the ranger. Wiped out and a long drive awaits in the morning. Missing everyone already.

Today we stayed home from church as my face is killing me and I don't look that presentable to say the least.

We did fold up two loads of washing and put it away and DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away.

This afternoon we went to the RSL club to help out with food preparation for the monthly bingo and played and I won $30 which was good so it made it a free day plus a bit of profit. The president gave us a few soft drinks for helping. We told him we are glad to help without but he insists so we accept it.

Looked at my face this evening and think it has reached ulceration stage so the skin cancer cream for the other 3 days are not necessary so I have stopped using it as of tonight. Hopefully I should start healing up shortly.

This morning I need to shave my head with my new Wahl razor. Then it's church and straight back home for some brunch. After that we don't have a whole lot planned. We will probably play some board games, watch a movie, and just hang out.
