Well I guess this is as good a place to post a heya if any!
Been off social media and such for a bit, have been working away at the homestead -- finally got the permits for the house, quonset hut is done, chicken coop up and garden drawn out. This has been a much slower process than I thought.
My son joined the Navy and is away at boot camp just north of Chicago.
Been working like crazy, getting some medical articles published and some chapters in some book done.
But for today, I made flat bread pizza, my daughter is coming over, as well as some neighbors in our little townhouse complex and we are going to watch the football game tonight!
Hope everyone has a great night.

Good to hear from you! Once upon a time I was stationed at great lakes naval training command. Aside from the cold wind off lake michigan I have fond memories of the place. Hope your son does well there!

Yesterday I went for a walk in the woods with my bow, saw a nice buck chasing a doe but they were at about 90 yards and outside my range. Climbing down in the dark my boot slipped and shaved a spot about 5" long on my shin, it made me curse a bit.. Today it is throbbing and I'm trying to limp it off...

This morning I ran some errands, picked up some more pain reliever as I am low, got a couple of whole chickens on sale and the makings for a couple breakfast casseroles. I'm off today and was planning to go for another walk in the woods, but instead I think I will change the oil in the car, wash both vehicles, and take the wife to look at a new Baby Lock surger. I think that last one will hurt as much as skinning my shin... :)

today was a better day....it tried to go sideways....but i refused to let things steal my joy and happiness....my day started at 3a.m. with a water leak in bathroom......a few other things happened too....i just said not today satan...kiss my rear you (blank) !!!
hope you have a better day today !! ( and you have a better attitude than I do LOL)

Epsom salt in tepid water, use a wash cloth and soak it for a good 20 min. You’ll still have a dandy bruise, but it does help soak the soreness out.

do you need to go to the woodshed....lol......growing up they all use to say you better change that attitude or you going to the woodshed for an attitude change...meaning a spanking....lol...my granny used a switch from apple tree on me....lol

we BOTH are going to have a good day...repeat after me please....just dont click ya heels saying that or we might wind up in Kansas !!

we can do it !!

Happy birthday, @zannej ! Happy anniversary, @Neb !!

Car maintenance today — new tires finally. I’ve been here five years but don’t drive a ton, so the old California tires wore slowly. New Cross-Climates now, so I’ll be safer driving in the winter.

Didn’t get to the jam yesterday, so that’s a project for today along with yogurt.

HI all! Got home Wednesday and did chores until sleep time. Yesterday, went to Walmart, Aldi, etc and did laundry. Came home with 3 fever blisters and a slight cough. I'm guessing the L-lysine kept me from really getting sick! I had a great visit as the great grandkids are older and can communicate better. We ran the whole time I was there with very little sleep. Came home and slept over 10 hours Wednesday night and 9 hours last night!

Already walked this morning and will work at cafe for 3 hours today. Don't have plans for much else.
Happy Belated Birthday @zannej and Happy Anniversary @Neb ! I will try to catch up later.

So glad to be home!!! And I lost 4 pounds on vacation and 1 more since getting home. We ate out every day, but I didn't eat too much apparently! 3.8 pounds from final goal/ 102 pounds down now!

WOW and congratulations!! And glad you are home!

Got up, worked out, found out I didn't have go to the spa, celebrated, went and soaked in the hot tub, came back, cleaned up, got dinner started, played on the internet, put some new grips in my Beretta 92 Brigadier Inox, took out the trash and checked on Charlene, turned on the television, and here I sit watching time tick away. I have little plans for this afternoon / evening other than to go shoot my new handgun purchases, hang out with the lady and eat dinner.

it was 32f here

But Kansas is a great place to end up! And I have four apple trees for switches.

I love a good BLT
Dave the builder guy finished today, and all the crazy projects we had him working on are all done. Hooray!
Mailed some books to MIL today, picked up another bushel of apples, since the price went down to $20. We went into the bigger town for feed and pharmacy pickup. Levi the neighbor boy came along, too. He and little granddaughter helped unload a truckload of it.

It's been a long day with some medical testing that turned out fine and then some time with Iowa Federal Senator Joni Ernst in a town hall meeting she arranged. She was receptive to encourage female veterans to get together with themselves and get comraderies because only THEY understand what they may have went through in the military. She likes the work I am doing locally and agreed to get more of my information via her staff, which I will be in touch with. I also want to encourage female veterans to step forward and get any disability money they deserve. I hope and pray for the best for them.

Made two batches of candles today. Should be good for winter now. I burn them daily except when it’s light at 4AM.
Made a loaf of sourdough: had a friend over with her two little ones so it’s half gone. 😋

I’m a lame-o.
Happy anniversary @Neb & @ThePrincess ❤️

Thank you Lenny!!

More work on the fence today. No more cuts to deal with thankfully. The only sharp objects today were the chainsaw and barbwire, I know how to handle them.

Somehow, think on tuesday, I pulled a muscle in my lower back. Very lower back, almost gluteus maximus territory. Hurts like heck but I haven't done anything about it. Haven't figured out the logistics of soaking my butt in a tub of epsom salts since I have a walk in shower. 🤣 Solomon's Seal is getting me through the day though. Today was spent digging with post hole diggers. I'm sure I'll have a new pulled something or other when I wake up tomorrow. Such is life! :)

Very little. Slept until 145. Wife had got up took the dog out and layed back down on the couch. She didn't wake up till 1. Yesterday wiped us out. Still not feeling too good, but maybe a little better than yesterday. Went out and sat on the porch for a couple hours. 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Felt good to be back home.

If I was there, I’d make you both a cup of tea and give ya (both) a big ol hug. You two are dealing with a lot. Sounds like things are heading in the right direction. Breathe easy and get some rest- yes again both of you. 💕
