well, we got about an inch of snow so far. The road is still drivable I think. I hope we don't get any more. Need to call to find out of the auction trip is cancelled, but probably not since there is not a ton of snow
Just started the wood stove. Actually I think it would probably be a waste of wood to keep it going during the night. It's cold in the house but the wood stove warms it up pretty fast and we have a big buddy space heater in the bedroom that warms the room up in like 5 minutes ( propane)

today, animal care , feeding lots of hay today since the grass is covered up
that's it, and hoping it won't snow anymore

Clean up to do, aside from regular chores, and fill a cart at Aldi. Husband may or may not need me to take him to the lab for bloodwork, or he may wait till Tuesday when he needs it also. Not sure. But company is coming tomorrow late afternoon, and I am not ready for them. It'll be ready or not for sure.

Husbands away to a bike show in the UK; eldest is coming home for the weekend. Other than collecting people from work, I'm lying low to shake this flu that I have. Have a list of outdoor stuff for the boys to do, and a list for me indoors; finishing a vest I'm knitting, writing an essay and a few book reviews and watching some rugby.

Woke up early in this hotel room. I'm not used to hearing any sounds. I'll get up soon and shower and kill time until breakfast at 7. After breakfast I'll check out and go the farm/ranch supply store. I need to buy a pair of boots to replace the one the fox ran off with. I'll also check out the guns, ammo and fishing stuff. I'm sure that I'll find something that I "need". Then I'll meet the daughter somplace for lunch and pick up the grandson and head home. Wife said that it's still raining at home. We've never seen this much rain before. It's supposed to rain all day today and all day tomorrow then turn to snow on Monday.

i started running a temperature yesterday afternoon about 3pm....it sucks i tell ya...hope you feel better soon...i am better this morning but feel like smeared dog poop on a boot heel....ugghhhh

No luck in my deer blind so far. I'm finding it hard to get out there in the mornings, what with having to walk the dog first thing and start up the woodstove and check in at work, so it's just been a few evenings. Yesterday of course two does walked through the back yard while I was working. We have an extended season this year because the population is so large, so hopefully I can spend a lot of time out there later.
Between my projects and work and helping Daughter with her new house, I hardly have time to turn around.
Yesterday my Mom came over to paint the insides of all the drawers I brought home from Daughter's. There's a ton of built-in cabinetry in her little house, but it smells like old people and mothballs even after a good scrubbing. So we're painting the interiors with kilz. The built-ins are solid wood, clearly made by the owner when the place was built; no dove tails and rather big nails, but still better than the particle board of today. I've done a few minor repairs and they should last for many more years.
Halfway through the job Mom got a text and I thought she was going to fall off her chair; someone she used to work with had passed. So she dropped the paint brush and ran home to change and get to the funeral home.
You just never know.
Today a friend is coming over to help me drive to a town two hours away and pick up a dining room set. Our rule is never go alone for a fb marketplace purchase. I borrowed an enclosed trailer, glad to have it since it's doing the rain/snow/sleet thing here today.
Then comes the fun part of moving the new set into my kitchen with random drawers stacked all over the place in varying stages of drying paint.

Today, I will do a walking video first.
Pick up friend and head to Aldi, Walmart and the car dealership. Told my friend to dress warmly as I have no heat in my jeep. LOL Always an adventure! Will be doing monthly stock up today so I don't have to go to town next week (hopefully).
Nothing planned when I get home.

It's a sad day when you have to give up a Challenger and drive a Subie, especially if it's not a WRX :p

Had to jump start Lori's Subie, she let it sit all summer without starting it, because it doesn't have AC anymore. Today, it's 30 degrees and she wanted the heated seats, but no joy with a flat battery,

NOW, she gets to go buy a battery, and take the old back for the core deposit, and Drive the car with AC but no heated seats.
We once had a couple of subaru's.
I let one sit all summer while I drove my pickup and then when winter came the 4WD was back in style so I started driving it to work which was a 90 mile round trip...
Strangely the heater barely put out any heat so there I was wearing a snow mobile suit in the car......finally got down to trouble shooting and found a obstruction in the main heater duct....
It would have necessitated pulling the whole dash to work on it so I just chopped a hole into the duct... Pulled out a major mouse nest , then duct taped the duct back up and had heat.. I guess we don't have much hantavirus here or I am immune.
I don't have a sense of smell so I didn't notice the aroma of heated mouse turds I guess.
