And @sonya123
Mine were on the clothesline in the summer kitchen so smoked. The water was brown and stinky 🤢. I splurged several years ago and got H Kimball’s American clothes pins. They were $2 each. I’m not about to pitch them.
And don't eat them when they come out of the oven!!😮

Sonya and I are cheapskates, lol!

Got up and built a fire. Guess I let it go out last night. It's kind of chilly in here this morning.
We got 6 inches of snow over night. We were planning on going shopping down south today. I'm not sure that want to drive a hundred miles in the snow pulling a trailer. Could leave the trailer home, or wait until tomorrow.

so sorry

I just get the cheap packages and the $ store and replace them when they fall apart, but they last a while

LOL debating if I should splurge and buy a few new dinner plates at the $ store. Most of ours have at least one chip in them. How is that for cheap? I think I will buy a few in case we have dinner guests. Would be sad to cook good food and serve it on crappy looking plates....but most of the time we have guests I get paper plates anyway to avoid doing so many dishes

Sad early morning for us. Our guests that came in from New Mexico, they come in often to visit...the man worked for my husband for many years and they've always been close. He had a heart attack in the early morning hours, wife doing CPR. No good. He passed. The house was crazy with EMT's, Coroner, and the mortuary came and picked him up. We are all so sad. She's finally resting now, will shower, then I'll take her to the mortuary. He'll be cremated, and he wanted his ashes spread some in the Virginia mountains where he lived, and some in the New Mexico mountains where they've lived for a while now. They were leaving for TX this morning to have Thanksgiving with his sister. I'm sure his wife will stay on with us till the ashes are ready, then she's planning to drive to TX and her and the sister will do the arrangements with the family for spreading the ashes. The first EMT here went sprinting in here, thinking it was my husband, running to the back of the house. One daughter arrived here last night, another will be arriving with her boyfriend in a couple of hours.

So sorry for your loss, Amish Heart. That must have been quite a shock. Prayers sent to all of you and family.

May his soul, and all the souls of the Faithful Departed rest in Peace.

Thanks all of you. I took her to the mortuary and all is now taken care of. We are looking around for his wedding band, he took it off somewhere. Hungarian inscribed in it. Will find it eventually. Other daughter arrived, boyfriend seems ok, pup grabbed a guinea. We're all pretty tired.
I know God always has a plan, but sometimes it's hard to understand!!

so daughter just called me and tells me " is it ok if we come a day early, like tomorrow?" I of course tell her that is fine, so then she tells me why...she has off from work because her and baby have norovirus.... she says she has had it since Friday but feeling better now. I hope she doesn't bring it here, I really don't need ANY virus, especially after the covid crap after our trip.
I am debating if I should have just told her to stay home but then I feel bad for her having to spend thanksgiving by herself . Always some problem, this grandkid sure picks up a lot of viruses. Last time they were here she got foot and mouth disease ( not the kind animals get) . None of us got it, I think only little kids get this, but norovirus is the stuff people get on cruise ships.
Well, we never got sick on a cruise and been on a few, and we also didn't get sick in India, so hopefully we won't pick this up. I am going to ban her from the kitchen and make everyone use a lot of handcleaner.

What would you do? Tell her to stay home ? Or take a chance of getting sick? It would be better if she had covid...we should be immune to that for a while

That is quite shocking. Maybe your strength is what she needed and God knew that.

Got up, worked out, cleaned up, went to work, tracked down a road raging psycho, took some pictures of her car, located some video of her driving the car with a date/time stamp, added all of that to the case file, pretended to be co-counsel and sat in a meeting with a one of the firm's lawyers and a very angry human who they thought might lose it, went to the store, picked up a few things I forgot to put on tomorrows order, went home, found out my Challenger buddy was driving a dealership loaner and has been reunited with his beautiful green Dodge, ate a ham sandwich, did some dished, started mt laundry a day early and then I started day drinking because I am in my 40's and can do what I want.

That sounds like a horrible situation. Although I lost many people in my life as a child, I was never there at the very end for any of them. Hopefully, the rest of your holiday will be quieter.

This is so sad. My prayers are with the family and his friends. I think @Neb said it perfectly. God knew who she would need with her.
