My portable generator wouldn't start this morning. I moved it in to the shop and put the torpedo heater on it. This generator has a 15 hp motor on it and it's hard enough to start in warm weather.
I have been known to take along a 2000 watt generator on a service call.
when someone has their off grid generator out in the generator shed and it won't start because of cold I get my little one going and point the exhaust right at the frozen one...20 minutes or two cups of coffee later they usually start.

Restful day.. Didn’t try to do any wiring. I pulled cabinet off the wall in the laundry rm. Spent an hour or so sanding it. Had something spilled on one of the shelves, sort of like dried syrup. Took a while to sand that stuff off. One corner of a board broke through a knot so wood glue is on the shopping list. Thinking I’ll do some minor repairs then give it a few coats of polyurethane. Good to go for another 50yrs.

Ordered some more lighting. Getting an led bar to mount on the bottom of the cabinet that will go back above the washer. It plugs into any outlet, has a motion sensor with automatic turn off. It’ll shine in to the washer, hands free operation.

No plans this evening...

Took the Challenger into our little town to the post office, and then it wouldn't start again. Luckily I was right across the street from the auto repair shop, so they came over and put in a new battery for me. It was time. Also put a new battery in my key fob which I always hate to figure out how to open the thing. Lucky I was where I was!
Dropped off three bags of old nonsense at the thrift store, went to the amish grocery for a few things. Came home finally, was gone longer than planned. After lunch I took husband to the bigger town lab for his bloodwork, and then to the pharmacy to pick up his meds. Just got the fire going again. Had it going early morning when it was in the 20's, and the temps are dropping again about now.

I'm so glad for your good screening @MoBookworm1957 !

Didn't make one banana bread today. Bought a 2023 Voyager with 56,000 miles for $26,000 out the door. Tomorrow banana breads!
Make banana bread or spend $26k hmmm 🤔 let me think on that one 😂
@Patchouli @Pearl can rub dmso wherever she wants to. I’m several states away so won’t smell it. You on the other hand might want to worry 🙃. (Also glad puttytat is doing better).
@Bacpacker take care of her (sounds like you are). Hugs and prayers.

I LOVE DMSO!! Tasty!! I was reading that it can regenerate damaged nerves!!

Had a check up yesterday with the Cancer Doctor.
I am still cancer free.
I came home and cried with relief, because i had several freckles change color and shape.
Did my blood work up too.
Blood pressure is coming down a little more.
Lost a bit more weight 5 pounds, probably 3.5 inches off my lower stomach and hips.
Started step 5 and 6 of BD exercises.
I still miss my Irishman.
But he will be home after the 21st December.
Congratulations 🎉
Happy dance
:dancing:

I can’t believe we’re at the end of the day. I was going all day- barely took time to eat lunch. Made another run to the PO and will do so again tomorrow 🙄. I that will be the end of what goes in the mail. I still have some things to wrap, but they don’t have to be mailed so no pressure. Got the pile of laundry done. Made dinner/lunch for tomorrow, have beans soaking so I can cook them tomorrow. It’s porcelain Wednesday, but I didn’t get them done 🫣. Hoping to find my dining room table tomorrow and get all the wrapping stuff done and put away.

End of the day.... Pearl's winter bedtime!! I really don't know how I live through summer?!!

I can pack my Fiat really well.
But I'm military so I pack Army style.
I only shop once a month.
you probably don't buy bags of feed either....but you can't even get a large cooler in a car. I have only owned one very small car ( a Nissan maxima, it was a piece of crap) and never went shopping with it other than maybe pick up something I forgot. The trunk was not big enough to put a cooler in and the kids were usually in the back seats.

That's wonderful news about the cancer @MoBookworm1957 -could do with losing a few pounds myself!
Last night realised my credit card wasn't in my wallet. I only use it for items I want back up protection on, like electrical stuff, in case the store wont take them back etc. Thought I must have used it somewhere without thinking, as a few people asked me to do shopping for them while I was on the road.
Spent two hours in town retracing my steps from Sunday to Thurs,as I was in twice. Nope. Then, ready to cry, took myself for a strong coffee and checked my bag for the 50th time.
It was in behind my driving licence. Its black, and blended in with the purse. I shouldn't be allowed out with supervision.
Other than chores and writing, today I'll be doing a snag list of stuff for husband and looking for hens to buy.

Hah! I agree, but both of our old jeeps are giving problems. DH's jeep blew the head gasket and mine is having issues also. I think this is a good thing, although I would much rather the 70 plus banana breads were done this morning.

Anyway, I will do a walking video at some point.
Will start banana breads in a few minutes.
I have a Christmas party at three with the Church ladies. We will see if I make it to that.

Getting ready to do animals...it's sure cold out. Got the fire started first thing this morning. Need to stop procrastinating and do some Christmas cards. Will be going to fill a cart at Aldi this afternoon. Pup was eating a very dead armadillo on the porch a bit ago; honestly, I don't know where he finds this stuff. I saved the pieces for little granddaughter to look at. She loves animal parts, especially the weird ones.

Actually I have hauled feed in my Fiat: 4- 50 pounds bags of it.
Yep large coolers too-2 of those.
Along with tents, kids, military gear, chickens, goats.
You learn to pack carefully when you have a small car.

Working on one of my brass train projects. The wheels have holes that are full of flash. Got out my trusty jewelers saw and opening up the holes. Pain? Yeah. Worth the trouble? I think so. The end results will tell. The other projects are all bent broke and busted. Just the way I like them but I need to get this one done as soon as I can. Next comes the primer and paint to finish the chassis then on to the body. Lots to do.

I got the turkey seasoned and into the crockpot, I'm not too sure what I'm going to create with that yet. Also put another load of salmon in the smoker this morning and have a big pot of blue elderberries cooking down on the stove for another batch of syrup. Did yoga, kiddo's at school, need to get ready for a chiropractor appointment. Probably gonna pick up more wood chips and honey for the elder syrup on the way home, and fill the car with gas. I also need to make a batch of bread because I'll have an extra kid or two with me tomorrow.
Oh, and laundry. We can't forget about that. 😆

My aunt in Alaska used to make the best smoked salmon! She would brine it for about 12 hours before smoking it. The brine had black and white pepper, salt, wine, molasses, apple orange and lemon slices, I can't remember all that was in it. It was candy I tell you, couldn't get enough. Nothing like the "smoked salmon" you get in the stores with some kind of nasty gravy.

I smoke salmon all the time for sushi , I don't like raw stuff
I just put it in lemonade overnight and then lightly season with salt and pepper before I smoke it. The dad of one of my daughter's ex boyfriends made this for us once and I have never liked salmon before at all until I had this

so power is off again today, what else is new
Husband has part of the solar working so the internet, one fridge and computer are plugged in right now
The freezers and the other fridge are in the cold room, so they will be ok most likely until power comes back on but son and husband are going to hook up the new system . We now have all the parts, just hasn't gotten done yet. So hopefully we won't need to run the generator at all. It's bright , cold and sunny out, so weather is good for this

Lemonade huh? That sounds amazing.
