We name areas of our property so that we know where we're talking about. Some of the names: coyote corner, bear canyon, badger flat, jack knife hill aka skid mark hill, rabbit corner, dead woman hill, camp site (from the olden days) etc.
you guys have so much imagination LOL, naming cars , sewing machines and even property areas! I have a hard time just coming up with names for the animals ...( goats are mostly names after trees or Bollywood )
Our pastures are named: pasture A , B , C , D and E , backyard and side of road and next to son's house LOL

After animal care today cleaning the house. Tomorrow is winter solstice, so I am cleaning and putting some green stuff in the house. Couldn't find any cheap tree, actually very very few trees for sale this year, we only saw 1 lot in front of the Rural king that's it. None of the actual stores have any
That;s ok, we have cedars and I will just cut some branches off
It is supposed to snow later today but it's not that cold yet. Tomorrow it is supposed to get really cold again
Called the wood supply guy and his equipment is broken again , but we are not out completely , just getting low. Son and husband cut some yesterday

I guess I just say where I'm talking about to the thing that's there...by the roundtop, by the big turkey run, the older turkey run, the milkhouse...
We have 4 barns, and I was thinking about how I talk about them, so it's old wood barn, big metal barn, hay barn, and open barn.
I'll be home today, so cooking and cleaning for sure. Maybe some Christmas cookies. It's going to be a cold one today, so I'll keep the fire going.

I'm like you. On the farm we had "Over South" for anything south of the creek, "The Pit" for anything near the old gravel pit, "The Home Place" and "The West Place" for the two residences, and "The Triangle" for the the brushy patch that was shaped like...a triangle.

We did name vehicles. When I was a small kid our car was a gold '71 Impala called "Old Gold". My first car was a brown '78 Malibu. I called it "The Boo" if my mom was in the room. I called it "The Turd" if she was out of earshot...

Sitting in the waiting room at the cancer center. Surgeon will review ct scan and hopefully schedule the surgery soon. Dad has a lot of discomfort and pain. Also a lot of difficulty swallowing so meals have been fun. He’s lost about 20 pounds since early September. He’s at his boot camp weight now.

Tried the Ensure shakes and he says they are for old people. Sick of soup and scrambled eggs.

We also made the decision to skip the trip to south Jersey for Christmas with the dozen cousins. I’m glad about that. Too far to drive with someone not quite up to it and the noise factor. I love my family but some times they are too much.

Animal chores finally done, and the hydrants were froze over, so I had to haul house water out. I think I got my walking in for the day. Reloaded fire wood on the porch, inside, and also inside kindling. Pup is happy to warm his butt inside today. Husband feeling so so. Was actually talking about using our two free tickets to see Homestead at the theatre. Then he said maybe after Christmas. Cleaning and cooking today still left to do. And laundry.
