The lady and girl are going to do some shopping as I carry bags and provide sarcasm and security. Then we are going to some Christmas light festival thingy and dinner. Of course I started my day with a workout, some time in the hot tub, and I am now enjoying both a TENS unit, some coffee and some world wide web.

Family holiday gathering today at an aunt’s house. Mom always makes a pecan pie for these events. She obviously can’t this year so I bought a frozen pie, thawed it for 24hrs. Popped it in the oven for 15min this morning, cooling right now. She still gets to bring a pie.

Thinking… since I’ll be close to the big town I might get a couple more storage bins from the big box store. They might have tools marked down also, worth a look. Maybe the traffic won’t be too bad.

The finished cake, I am not that great at decorating unless I really need to, but I bet it will taste good. It has a layer of eggnog ( the Even Williams kind from the liquor store) buttercream, a layer of mandarin orange curd and manderin oranges, and whip cream on top also has eggnog , plus chocolate

Just came in from splitting firewood. It started snowing pretty hard and the wind is picking up. Even with frozen and snow covered logs I managed to split about a month's worth of wood. We loaded the front porch and put the rest in the wood shed, then covered the wood splitter, tractor and the last of the logs. It was slow going because the logs are frozen together and the ground around the splitter is all ice. Some of the logs are too big for me to lift up on the splitter. Once I get everything I can lift, I'll pick the rest up with tractor and sit them on the splitter.

I'm looking at buying a power wagon from DR Power Equipment. Basically it's an engine driven wheelbarrow. It's got an 800 pound capacity and has electric dump. Besides the dump bed it comes with a flatbed attachment too.
Has anyone here ever had one, or know anything about it? I've seen other ones on the internet but so far they've all been made in China. The DR is made in the US.

Our neighbor up the road has one! He uses it to haul hay and feed to his horses. Also 50lb salt blocks and bags of feed from his truck to his feed shed! We saw it in use one time about two years ago, not sure how long he has had it, but he uses it everyday! I've never used one, but his seems very handy. DR is a good company!

I DID NOT CLEAN THE BIG STORAGE SHED! We cut the branch off the fence and fixed it! I hauled firewood in the house. Hubby is splitting firewood right now. I made a new trail through the woods! Fixing to take Bear for a walk before dark! Everyone is fed except the humans! Leftover fajitas tonight, so no cooking! So out I go for a walk....🐕‍🦺

That's good information to know. The only negative thing that I've learned about this machine, is the gas tank only holds 1.5 quarts and you have to raise the bed to refuel. From some of the reviews I just read, apparently the engine doesn't have an alternator so you have to charge the battery every 10 days or so. None of these are deal breakers for me.

@Mountain trapper I will save you on your past 2 posts.

Split your firewood, stack in an IBC crate. Stack away.

When you need wood at the house bring it over with the forks on the tractor. Work smarter not harder This is my plan at the new place.

I have a lot of DR equipment. 3 pt. Brush Hog (when they still sold them), Battery weed wackers, Battery walk behind whacker.
Their Customer service has been outstanding.
My biggest complaint is the brush hog is pink not red 5 years later.

A friend of the family owns a garden center and this is how he stores his wood for sale.

Storage shed? What storage shed? I don’t know anything about a storage shed 😂🤣😂

Finished the work week just fine..it was a bit of a circus ..folks not showing up for various reasons aside from the crappy weather on monday so everyday folks were managing multiple tasks.
Today started out kinda sunny..but it is supposed to snow n rain ..looking pretty dark n ominous..

I got a great walk in with the pups first at least..ran a few town errands. Got dog food made for another week or so..

Had a too list but I'm kinda thinking working on a rug by the stove seems like a plan..
I might bake some cookies later too..

@Mountain trapper I like DR equipment too..
I have one of there walk behind trimmer mowers..it does a great job, easy to maintain and getting filters and whatnot for it has been easy. Great customer service help too..
I have a DR tiller and 2 walk behind brush mowers. I've been very happy with DR. I guess I'll probably be just as happy with their power cart too. OK, I'll order one next week. I'm also going to get one of their wood chippers and their pull behind brush mower.

That's not a bad idea. My wood shed is 8×16 feet and holds about 7 cords. We need 8 or 9 cords to get through the winter. Right now we stack a couple cords outside and cover with a tarp. We burn the outside wood first.

Ben had a photo up of one. Ben....where's the photo again?

New place wood shed about the same. Walk way between that and workshop can handle the totes. I will just put a tote on the porch.
Old woodshed becomes my cover for my splitter and splitting activities .
The 3rd way wood gets you warm is handled by equipment you have.

I am going from 20A to 3A. I did have inspiration from the way the wife designed 1 acre to handle 6 ponies and some beautiful floral gardens Now it’s going gardens to be for other purposes and pasture
