animal care first, have to heat up water for them, it's very cold , 10 degrees this morning. We have both stoves going again and need more firewood already
Trying to think of something to cook with leftover lamb roast from yesterday.
Might take dog for a hike if it warms up some but probably not in this weather

Been cruising around on the forum. Get up, get ready for church. Breakfast. Daughter will go with me today. She usually goes to her young single adult church meetings in another city but they don’t do that on major holidays so they can be with their families.
I wish I could get all my kids to come to church with me. Start of the year I’ll be on the earlier church schedule.
Find something to put in the crockpot for dinner. Get some cleaning done.
Love you guys. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Wrapping presents this morning, then heading out in a little while to do some very last minute shopping. I don't like people in small doses, so this should put me squarely in the Christmas spirit. Or maybe I'll imbibe some Christmas spirits when I get back.

I made a hashbrown/ham dish & scrambled eggs for brunch and did the dishes used in cooking. We are going to eat soon then the ladies are going to make some Christmas treats, not sure exactly what. Meanwhile I intend to exert the least amount of energy possible while staying awake. Eventually I am going out to pick up dinner and then we are going to watch a holiday movie of some kind.

My favorite Christmas movie is Badder Santa. Second best is Letter to Satan Clause. I may have to watch one when I get back in the house tonight.

The lady loves the movie Elf. I am more of a National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation guy. Although I really enjoyed the movies Fat Man and Violent Night too. Lots of holiday violence.

I'm home, putting laundry away, got a couple of sewing repairs to do, hopefully I vacuum, got a few scheduling phone calls to make. I'm not working in the big storage shed, I'm making one more trail in the woods connecting to the one I made yesterday. Hubby is cutting up two trees that are down and will run the small branches through the chipper shredder!

Took the pups on a walk around here..the roads are still frozen so I can avoid muddy wet pups and not drive anywhere .
Danny boy loves his morning cuddles..the pup that was afraid if touch 4 years ago...

Now my toes are cold..hiked up the snow covered hill next to me to see if there were any elk tracks.
Last year the elk were late in showing up. Every year since ice been here the local herd arrives about mid December..every am like clockwork b4 the sun rises. They come up the draw next to my place , usually make they way to my garden to eat down leftovers or whatever hay I put out there..they lay down for a bit then as it gets lighter. They move usually up the draw towards my neighbors property's n hang out there all day..then work there way down to the cut hay fields below in the valley at night..
Last year we didn't get alot of snow untill January really..and this year isn't much different. What snow we have gotten has been melted by rain storms after mostly..there is only about a inch to 4 inches around..very light n icy.
Anyways, only about 2 tracks vs the 20 to 30 in the herd I usually see. Hopefully the herd survived the wildfire we had out here too..

Does the wax screw up your wood burning stove? I only use the wax stuff outside
I only use these outside too. I keep a bunch in my grab and go bag in the ATV's. I use them mostly when I get stuck, plowing snow or have to walk home after getting stuck. So far I just use them by their selves to keep from freezing to death rather than starting a real fire.

As I sit on my backside watching movies and the ladies make Christmas goodies, I have found that my skills as a taste tester have gone under utilized up to this point of my life. I present Christmas cookie #1. It met my high standards and received a thumbs up. I intend to eat several more in the coming days.

I've made bunches of those in empty tuna cans with some cardboard strips rolled up in them, then the wax poured over. They burn awhile

Dang. That look nice. Send me one.....dozen. please.

Spending the day next door at dad’s. Made a cheesecake—he requested one. Said it’s easy to eat.

Working on my “keeping the fire in the wood stove going” skills. Not exactly doing too good in that respect. But I keep plugging away at it.

Going to the grocery soon to pick up few things and something for dinner.

The Princess is doing up a batch of chocolate chip cookies.

As the daring quality control engineer I risked sampling the raw cookie dough. Good thing I did my part. I discovered a fragment of a plastic bag!

I brought this news to the process control engineer but she determined the parts per million was well below industry standards and the process would continue

Some jobs go under appreciated.

Took dog for a hike, husband just put the sheep back in the barn , I fed the birds ( birdfeeders)
Dishes are done too, so done for the day. Debating on what has priority this coming week, firewood or hay, or my xray I am supposed to get for my foot

husband overheated the house today, he kept putting large pieces in the livingroom stove until it felt like Florida in here, and I opened the door to let some cold air in LOL

Very busy the last few days.
Today is Church, cut up and vacuum seal ham that was cooked yesterday. Prep for tomorrow at the hospital in Jackson. DH will have blood work, CT of lungs, pulmonary function test (he passed out last time), then a bronchoscopy and wash out his lungs. Long day! Hope transport shows up on time! I have a friend feeding the dogs and cat. I will try to update. Please pray for a successful outcome!
