Our view to the west this Christmas morning. We had biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Tonight we'll have salmon for dinner. All I could find was Atlantic salmon! It'll have to do.
I had some dear friends who were like grandparents to me. His mom got upset because she would go through the work of making pies etc and nobody would eat them because they were so full from the meal so she started it. They were at our house for Christmas one year and I said we were keeping their family tradition ( they didn’t have children). That was many years ago and we’re still at itOne year we got MIL an apron for Christmas that said, "Life is short. Eat dessert first!"

I thought that was you just to the left of the Blues. Looks like you're sending more weather our way too.See me wavin’ at ya?
Dang, that's quite a spread. I especially like the looks of that cake. Strawberry's are my favorite.
Whatever you do, don’t go near the shedI took am planning on going through closets, drawers, the pantry, etc ! It's a good feeling to get that stuff done!!
Sounds like you have a good plan and found a good deal pretty fast!
We were just in there! Parked my little John Deere in it. Doors are shut, staying away for now!!Whatever you do, don’t go near the shed
Well..well see if it's there still by Saturday and if they can work with me on a reasonable payment.I took am planning on going through closets, drawers, the pantry, etc ! It's a good feeling to get that stuff done!!

Thinking out loud is a good thing!!Well..well see if it's there still by Saturday and if they can work with me on a reasonable payment.
I really want a newer truck tho..but I need to talk to my brother. His truck is in good shape but older as well ..when he moves out here he might want to go in on a newer one with me. We can get a full size one , that's new or newer I'm thinking and save it for road trips . If I get a new truck now as a commuter, by the time I retire it will have alot of miles on it and I'm back to having 2 high milage vehicles to start retirement on..not very ideal.
So if I grab a economical commuter that can still do snow n mud, use it good n by the time I'm 55 in a year n half, my brother should be here by then building the house. I retire from the mill or just do parttime start collecting my pension. The car will still be under 100,000 miles n either we keep it as the local area ride or getting supplies or tade it in for a new truck.
I'm thinking this through on here you all..bear with my mental process ..lol..
That reminds me..I've got questions to forumlate for fridays 5 today..
Doing the math, that would be eight 16 ounce servings, times 7 (gallons), 56 meal sized servings for a freezer. Can you can it or will you freeze it?
It depends on the ingredients. I think the canning gods have said no to pureed squash in recent years, but that chunks are okay. I don't personally agree with that assessment and I've canned pumpkin butter before. Squash is gonna be a pressure can only food any way you look at it though.
Been there. I declined dessert at Thanksgiving this year. When I host, I try to give a break in between dinner and dessert.I had some dear friends who were like grandparents to me. His mom got upset because she would go through the work of making pies etc and nobody would eat them because they were so full from the meal so she started it. That is even better.I will freeze dry most of it. We've been pigging out on it so its going to be more like 6 gal to freeze dry.
I don't like to pressure can squash soup. It is really easy to scorch/caramelize it. I don't care about the chunks versus puree for canning; I don't agree with the canning gods on this point, either.
I cook my squash + a few sweet potatoes in real chicken stock with onions, rosemary and thyme. Afterwards I puree it and add bacon bits when eating it.
So actually that meal cost you guys $40. It does look good though.I went to a restaurant in Arnolds Park, Iowa called The Ritz with a buddy and had an all you can eat buffet. Below is my first serving. When we were ready to go we asked for the bill. They said it was FREE! It was a Merry Christmas gift to the public....WOW! Both of us left a $20.00 tip.

Wow you thought you had a lot to do now. Wait until it dumps that much snow and you have all those snowman to build- whew.We just got home from town with a load of lumber. Got it put away in the barn and covered up. It looks like we have snow coming tonight. The wind is picking up some and the clouds are getting dark. They're calling for up to 2 feet of snow tonight and tomorrow, and snow predicted everyday for 2 weeks.
He's lurking, I sent him a PM,Wow you thought you had a lot to do now. Wait until it dumps that much snow and you have all those snowman to build- whew.
Speaking of snow, we haven’t heard from @Tirediron for a while.
